images problem

I don't use images very often, but once in a while they can add to a post. I seem to have forgotten how to make an image appear in a post. I have my pics hosted on carpron. I copied the url, then pasted the url in the post, then put[IMG ]url[/IMG ] (without the spaces)surrounding the url. In the post was the dreaded red X. Right click, hit show picture did not work either.
So I changed it to a link. Even that didn't work the first time. I believe it works now though. Would someone please tell me what I did wrong? Or could it be that I have my computer settings adjusted too securely? I'm using IE, if that makes a difference. Please note that I did not use "IE and secure" in the same sentence.

Easiest way is to just use the image attachment now, Yikes.
