I've heard that if you get the better packages from Macco or Earl Schwab it can come out really well. If you do a lot of the prep work yourself and make it clear you want it to be perfect and you'll keep coming back till it is they'll do a good job. If you remove the trim and badging yourself and do all the masking it'll come out just fine. But that's a lot of time and work...but totally worth it. I've considered it...

yeah but when you go there, they'll tell you that "they do everything" (prep work, sand, wetsand etc....) just to get your business so that my friend left it up to them. I mean, why do you want to do the prep work yourself when they guarantee and say they'll do it right?
He had the side moldings on the door so when you open it you don't end up scratching the other car right? So one side was off and left those adhesive stuff on there. Well, his car really do need a paint job so he took it to Earl Shieb. They in turn said that they'll do everything. After my friend picked up his car, he noticed that the adhesive stuff on the side door molding was just painted over and there was the time when all hell broke loose and he just started bitching to them among other things he saw on the car. With that, Earl Shieb painted the car again from scratch hehehehehe Last edited by masagsxr; 02-10-2009 at 06:03 PM. |

Yeah...I wouldn't trust them to do a lot of the prep work. I'd at least remove the badging and some of the molding and wether stripping so they don't just mask over it. Although i'd flip too if they didn't do everything when they said they would...

ok so this is random but this is a chat thread so its okay. was doing some work to my buddy's Matrix XRS on friday and look at how small my hands/arms are!
![]() ![]() ![]() i had to pull his TB/ISC off and clean it (the PCV hose dumps right onto the throttle plate and gets crank case oils all over it and causes issues over time, fun). while the TB was off the car i figured why not clean the intake manifold? i was too lazy to pull it off so i took a rag and just stuck my hand in there! Before cleaning: ![]() Crazy how much oil accumulates huh? Anyways, that was me fisting a Matrix. Now you can say you have seen just about everything. ![]() |
