So you said you want 350-400 whp. Just curious...but how old are you and how many 400 hp cars have you driven? That's a lot of power for a street car with a young driver. Plus once you get into that range you're gonna have to invest in a lot more parts and will probably have to do a rebuild (with stronger internals) to safely and reliably make that kind of power. What kind of money do you want to/do you have to spend on the car?
Well pretty much 100% of my cash goes to my cars. Ill be 17 in a week and i do very little work in acting (commercials, t.v. shows ect...) Catch me on true beauty the ep. that came out last week! And that pays me a few grand every now and then and I work part time in sales.

It is a goal that will take time no doubt but I know I can do it, and once im pushing that much I want to pick up a crx or something for a daily driver to be easy on the deuce and my wallet for gas.

You don't think the internals can handle ~350whp?

Stock internals can handle that much power but I don't know how long they would hold up. How many miles are on the motor. Sounds like you'll have a fair amount of funds to put into the car. I'd do it while you still don't have too many expenses .

But again...how many 350 hp cars have you driven? 350 whp is also more like 400+ hp at the crank. All that on a mid engine, rwd car that has no driver aid systems like the new cars...might be more than you're ready for. I don't know how much driving experience you have but I've seen plenty of people overpower their cars before they're ready. I'd keep the engine close to stock...maybe a few bolt-ons and spend some money on track time and skid pads.

Ben on the boards is running around 350 whp with the twosrus.com street brawler kit. I know he did a full rebuild and spent around $10k...

I wouldn't exactly hit 350whp over night, my deuce is paid for 100% by me and its kind of hard when i cant even get a regular job (parents wont let). I just have these occasional come ups of a few thousand dollars from acting and such and maybe im getting a little carried away but I should be pushing 270whp by the end of march then learning to drive that for a couple months and hopefully getting to join the 350 club by next year.

SUPPOSEDLY I have a jdm swap but im not to sure, ill let you guys check it out next week. I think its the stock motor with 120k on it but then again I could be making the wrong assumptions.

I've driven a few 300+whp mr2s with good tires and suspension, they were all a handfull to drive on either track or autocross. In my opinion (drag aside) it is too much power unless you can support it with some serious tire and pricey suspension and brakes. One in particular dyno'ed 402 at the wheels driven at streets of willow. Down the long front straight it was ridiculous, I would have to brake half way through just to make it across the skid pad. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but just saying theres alot of things to consider when you bump up the hp.

Yeah I kind of understand. As I said before I'm not going to be hitting 350whp over night but a semi slow process so if I feel it's enough at 300 I'll just stop there and work on my exterior =] thanks for all the info and advice though guys much appreciated

You got big dreams Shadow.. You should probably need to think of investing for some track time and maybe race school for your age. Its a lot of work you are looking to do and it sure does not get cheap. I guess if $$$ isn't an issue then go for it.
