been doing some readings on the forums about tranny problems and i think i just need to 'adjust my clutch pedal' to allow it to have more throw. I know my clutch i have to push it allllll the way down to the floor literally to be able to not stall and then it doesnt even come all the way up (about 75% of the way then i use the side of my shoe to pull it up the rest)
anyone have some detailed instructions or know a write up or want to help me do it? =] thanks for the help! |

every1 needs to push the petal all the way, even i do, but my clutch petal comes back up
just take a look underneigh and you will see a spring in the brake petal, same thing should b there for the clutch, if its not that its what mark suggested |

SUPPOSEDLY the car has a stage 3 clutch, im saying if you release the clutch even a few millimeters before giving some gas, STALL. Ill check this clutch spring tomorrow. Another thing i noticed on the clutch pedal assembly, right above the pedal there is a bar which is connected to another bar with a bolt/nut combo. I noticed every time the clutch is pushed and comes back up it loosens the nut a very small amount. What am i missing or whats supposed to be there? So TO DO list to fix stupid clutch/tranny: bleed clutch check for spring adjust the clutch (how do we adjust guys) Pressure Plate Throwout Bearing if still not fixed - slit wrists ![]() hopefully just a bleed will do it tho |

You know it could be that the previous owner set it up that way. I see it a lot on street/race cars even when I was big on sportbikes. Car/motorcycle race enthusiast set their clutch low that way so it engages right away when you remove your feet even just a little bit just as you described above. My brother's AE86 is the same way just as the mustang I worked on 2 weeks ago. The guy on the mustang has his car setup as drag tho and daym his clutch is so stiff and it engages early too when you put your feet off just a bit.

^Did you plug it back in
. Just kidding...maybe the light bulb blew?I'm pretty sure the symptoms are not indicative of needing a new clutch...I just thought it'd be fun to see the reaction. It's probably just in need of an adjustment... |
