says 350 for 3 coats - 2 paint 1 clear. 300 if same color car x2 (told him i have like 4 cars) and if already preped 300 or 250 depending he does of the work at home, outside. says a bunch of ppl haven't complained as long as he doesn't get rushed. 1-2 days. depending on if he starts that morning he will take half first so he can buy supplies and the other half once he is done. some of his work ![]() ![]() |

Colin, i would be honored to be there and babysit as needed (Mark you crack me up! ![]() )i will pm you my number in a sec, my only limitations may be how close i am to getting the 2 running and gas money..... Also i am sooo glad that you are okay! that could have been a very tragic situation..... ![]() Welcome SF-Jim ![]() Guys you need to teach me about paint. I know nothing about prep, or the process for that matter and i would love to learn! (cuz knowledge is power!) |

Happy Birthday Colin!
Hmm. Do you know what kind of paint he uses and what kind of prep he does? (Strip all the way down to metal, primer, base, paint, clear or strip paint to primer and spray?) The paint looks good, can't see any orange peel or overspray in the pictures. |

Wow Deni... thats really cheap and from the looks of it very good work... 2 days hhmmmm Seems quick but I guess he doesn't take time to take a break.... daym...... No rush at all. I was prepared to leave my car for at least 2-3 weeks. Definitely no rush for a job like this.
Today is Colin's b-day? Happy Birf-day man...... Was the dinner this sunday? I totally forgot, its my mom's b-day oppps... We're planning to take her Kayaking in Long Beach KAYAKS ON THE WATER - Kayak Rentals Then lunch at San Pedro for some seafood. I'd try to catch up at night tho for dinner if we dont have any other plans. We might tho... Mom's b-day is exactly this sunday March 15. Hey Ren... How's the car? |

Dorman is a nerd
![]() (in regards to the she said comment not the wheels, the wheels are nice)Mixxer thanks for asking and for your previous supportive comments. Later this week when i have some time i am gonna pilfer some local junkyards and see if i can obtain the TPS connector as Yoda has informed me that the only way to get it is buy purchasing an entire harness ![]() i am assuming that since the 5SFE came in some Camrys i should be able to find what i need. If not i will try this out How to make Mating Electrical Connectors or maybe just solder the wires to the sensor and call it a day Gonna kinda play it by ear on this one and just do whatever it takes to git her done without being obnoxiously ghetto. Once i get the TPS circuit issue sorted she "should" be good to go for now.... Only time will tell i guess... Last edited by deucegirl03; 03-10-2009 at 03:27 AM. No lip Mark on the wheels? I guess its our own preference....
You're welcome Ren. Hopefully you find those at the junk yard. Usually they are already stripped down tho. You might be able to order those connectors at the dealer but I'm sure its going to be hella expensive. Maybe you can trade harness with Christian's parts car?..... Thats pretty cool the way the mold on the connector is made. Do you still have the original connector? I believe you can buy those pins at a local electronic store (Radio Shack / Fry's Electronics) and just replace them and reuse the connectors. |

Yeah...I probably will end up going with something else in the wheel department. I'd like something unique but it's kinda hard to do
.Glad you appreciated my "that's what she said" comment Ren ![]() |
