correct. no code on idle. only for a few seconds after i hit the throttle. so im good there then? i can move on to the next issue? sweet!

my whole ignition system is new. OEM wires, cap, rotor, dizzy housing, ignition coil, and NGKs (the ones called for in the BGB). i found that basically the whole iginition system didn't ohm out to spec and needed to be overhauled. so its def not on that side of things.
the more i think about it the more its probably a vacuum issue. or something having to do with what i messed around with. so thursday or friday when i get back to her i am gonna replace vac lines and just start chasing it down. (thanks mixxer for the idea of getting cut em yourself lines from an auto parts store)
i will get this dangit! i have come this far i won't let it get the best of me yet!

Cool... Now we can concentrate on the timing after you sorted out the vac lines...

If the dizzy is not cooperating with the TDC, i'm wondering if the belt/cam gears jump a tooth. I hope not coz its going to be tough to get in there. How was the whole timing thing before you started out on this project to begin with? (before taking off the throttle body etc.....?)

i know they freaking rule! hi frankie
mixxer idk what my timing was before. she did seem to idle a bit high, maybe around 1200. but i had never looked into it before now. i hope the timing belt isnt off a tooth or watnot. but i found TDC both per the BGB and then double checked it via the old skool way, by bumping it till you feel air push out #1.
also i ensured that the dizzy was timed out to #1 and installed it with the cap off to ensure that it didn't move once it mated to the cam.

Sounds like no problem there then. Hope sorting out the vac lines gets to the bottom of it so we can start cruisin the canyons already

You can visually inspect the booth if they are torn. It could also be the bearing on your hub or ball joint bushings.

Glad you got the TPS fixed finally. Vacuum lines are such a pain. But yeah...the cut them yourself lines save money...they just aren't as convenient

Dude Che...maybe you should let a couple of us take it around the block. Pretty sure we could figure out what it was pretty quickly. Might be the diff...probably not the axles themselves.

I know thats the sounds the FWD cars make so im not totally sure how it would work in our cars. It can also maybe be something in the froint hitting the SB???

shadow check your wheel bearings by jacking up the car and moving them up and down then left to right. I had the same prob and it was a bad bearing. then check your control arms, mounting bolts, and bolt mountings. I have had a missing bolt, broken bolt backing in the fraim come out and bad bearings. all make that simular noise.

use the jack that came with the car... Thats what they are there for if you have any. If you don't, borrow the jack that came with your mom's, dad's, friend's car or whatever.

Why would the bearings make a clunking sound while turning?

So I think I might just get some GR-2's for the rear of my two and new strut mounts to save some money. Then instead of buying Koni's I'll save up for KW Variant 3 Coilovers. That way I can fine tune the suspension.
I think I might even keep the manual windows and just add power door locks for convenience. I'll probably add the non-power steering rack for better feedback and road feel.
So if I make the MR2 more of a track/road/fun car then I'll grab a daily driver (maybe a 3-series), then I'm gonna build a GT car out of a Supra ...for all those who don't know GT means Gran Turismo (which translates to Grand Touring)

Well, we don't know exactly what Che's issue is right?. We're going by what he says and responding on various things what it could be. Having a mess up wheel hub bearing is like running on a not a perfectly flat road with pot holes everywhere (i could be exaggerating here hehehe) There will be spots in the hub where the bearing is crack and does not rotate evenly.

But yeah, it could be the axle, bushings, ball joints etc..........
