yeah guys i have been retardedly busy. my buddy is visiting from outta state so i spent most of friday night with him and the guys. sat i slept in late due to that, so i spent mostly yesterday with the 2.
replaced all the vac lines, bled the coolant, set the timing (finally). she was starting to run better (solid idle, tho high-right below 2k). so i decided to triple check the torque on the intake man itself and after i did that it started to idle like crap again. so i am thinking maybe there is still some air in the coolant, or the intake man is torqued down incorrectly or unevenly. also gonna double check my EGR operation.....but i have no codes. which leads me to believe that what i am chasing is mechanical (ie vacuum or coolant or something to that effect).
ah man i am soo ****ing tire and sore and can't stop thinking about it. i freakin dream about it at night. and i have to wait till thurs or fri before i can work on her again. stupid responsibilities like work and school! argh!
but i am sooooo close i can taste it!

Whats the diff between 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen exactly? he was at my place and his throttle body didn't have the EGR. He says he went to a shop and someone told him that it was definitely a 2nd gen... I thought the difference with the 3rd gen was just because the intake manifold didn't have the EGR and that was it.

Does anyone know if the MR2 windshield has the antenna in it? All of these places keep asking me that. I don't have a radio so I haven't really paid attention and I don't see an antenna on the car anywhere so I"m assuming it does?

From what I heard from Ji, if it does, you'll see a line in the middle of the windshield going up. If not then it does not have it. Do you have rear antenna in the spoiler? If you do then most likely your windshield does not have a built in antenna.

Hamid, if you have the premium system in your car, you have an antenna in your windshield. When you take the windshield off, you will be able to see where it plugs in. Sorry to hear about all your issues. Regarding the rubbing, maybe you should pull the fenders or go with a different size tire.

Mixxer, let me know which way you go with the seats. Don't listen to Dorman, I'll supervise you both and make sure you are doing it right.

Glad to hear you are close Ren! Keep us posted.

I'm cool with the issues I guess, thankfully they are not HUGE and I've been learning a lot.

Orange Auto Glass in Santa Ana is going to replace the windshield with new molding for $164 including everything. Best I could find.

Yes exactly. It looks HORRIBLE right now and I really need to clean up the glue. Also I'm guessing driving around with no molding on the windshield is a bad thing. How can I tell if the glass that is on there now is the original? It should say TOYOTA somewhere in the corner right?

They say no blue tint or whatever color it is and yeah some kind of stamp somewhere in the corner. Not sure if it'll say Toyota tho.

Ugh. The auto glass place just called. They can only get the glass with the antenna in it with the blue tint. I don't want the damn ugly blue tint. I think my 2 will have no antenna but it doesnt really work right now anyways so no big loss I guess.

I can always install an antenna after the fact somewhere else right? The only thing I'd want it for is NPR basically.

Yeah...I like the blue tint. I actually don't like the antenna running up the middle.

Oh...and it says toyota on the passenger side lower corner.

I resent that

I was just saying you could do go that route...expensive though. Just refoam it like Ji said. I'll have done two sets of seats after this week so I'll have a fair amount of experience

His wasn't drilled or anything. Its one whole piece molded. No holes, plates nothing.

Yeah...but none of the JDM 3sgte's came with egr.

BTW...Che is never gonna get anywhere near $9.5k unless he can prove it's really a 3rd gen 3sgte, fix all the issues it has, and prove it has LSD...
