That just means the pipe/hose... There is a sensor nozzle thats connected to the airbox right? if it is not sensing whats coming in, it makes the idle jump up/down... In my case, I have a rip by the elbow before it goes to the throttle body. When I accelerate/rev the air skips the sensor because it sucks it from where it is ripped and the sensor throws out a bad reading thinking you are either getting too much air or like its clogged.

Wow! I'm glad this is such an active board in SoCal, but I don't have time to read all these messages. I'm hoping someone can help me out here though. Does anyone know a place that will install Dynamat or a similar product in Orange County? I just want to do my doors and/or floorboards/area behind the seats. Thanks.

I can do it
. As far as a shop goes I'm pretty sure any car audio shop could do it. Probably would charge a lot. It's a time consuming process. How much down time are you hoping for?Car Before Dynomatt... ![]() Here's my car after Dynomatt... ![]() ![]() After closed cell acoustic foam... ![]() |

Oh...yeah...thanks for posting that. But I think I'm gonna go a little different route. Because I already starting customizing my interior I figured I might as well just go all out. So I'm gonna be trying some new stuff to add some luxurious flare to it. I should pick that up and resell it though huh?
![]() Thanks on the Compliments. If you want help with restoring your interior I'm sure I can assist. It's the least I can do . I know you want a lexus SC but I think we can make your MR2 bawler enough... |

Wow! Nice Dynomat job! I'm not looking to do it myself as I'm certain I would cause some damage to something. Besides that, I don't have the time to do something like that. Can anyone recommend a place that will do this and a ballpark range of the cost?

Dude...just clay bar it. You have a clear coat since you have metallic paint.
SF-Jim...I'll do it for you if you'd like. What is your goal behind it. Are you looking to quiet down your car, improve audio quality, etc??? I called a few shops and they said it runs between $500-$1000 depending on what you want to do. I have all the detail from three different shops. If you wanna save some money and aren't in a huge time crunch I can do it in under a week for less... |
