The 97 was the only year (in the Ref's book) that only used one Catalytic converter. You wouldn't need a manual ecu as long as the manual tranny was an option for that year. Just ground the one wire you need to fool the ecu. The exhaust system needs to use the stock setup to get BAR'd. I believe you need to have the Cat the same distance from the stock Y-pipe as it was on the camry. Using a return fuel line can throw codes I've heard...

From Conors experience, having the Evap monitors to complete was one of the hardest things to do on the 97+ 1MZs.

Dorman: I guess everything. How would it work for smog with OBDI to OBDII? If ever I do a swap like this i'd still like to keep everything smog legal (yeah i care about the environment) hehehehe somehow hahahhahahah.... Do you think your car will pass easy after the smog or i shouldn't have even asked?

OBDI to OBDII is just going to be a pain in the wiring department, but it's all good. As long as everything is there, the emissions stuff and all you should be good! And I too care about the enviroment and that's why I'm glad TRD cares too since their s/c is CARB legal.

Why need to worry about the wiring if you are using the whole harness/ecu of the car you are getting the parts from? I guess its not a lot of work mating two harnesses together. They are color coded afterall.

My car will be %100 smog legal. At least at first. No matter what though I will keep the motor so it will pass the sniffer test. Don't wanna hurt mother earth.

Yeah...if you get a whole donor car I feel like having all the systems work will be a little easier. A lot of people piece their swaps together and that's never easy. The wiring isn't suppose to be too bad on the 1mz. You have to join the body harness to the engine harness.

Just keep it completely stock initially and you shouldn't have too much trouble. Or you can go 3vz if you wanna make your life easier...

I think its a lot easier to find another camry than mr2 car being parted out for a good deal don't you think? But yeah, I understand. I'm surprise nobody offered you for your wheels yet and they do come with good tires too.

They're probably not selling because you're asking $500 for them. I got mine with almost brand new tires for $200. Have you tried craigslist???

Yeah, I'm not ready to upgrade to Turbo brakes just yet. Remember I have all my new brakes sitting in my closet. Oh and the wheels are reduced to $500! Remember now Mark, these are chrome they're rare! they sell on the Z forums for $500 with no tires last time I checked.

Yeah if they don't sell in the next month I'll reduce them again to $400, if no bites then whatever. It'll be more functional when the V6 is in.

Me and you both dude, we sure have the v6ickness.

Well I sent an email to the seller of the 97 Camry. We'll see if it's still driveable or not, I can't tell from the pictures. If it is, time to low ball so I can still have some money left.

Rotors will fit fine. I guess you can sell the pads to someone who isn't looking to upgrade (at least for a while like maybe Christian)

I don't think it's drivable. It looks like it's up on stands in the front. Guessing it'll need a tow. Nevermind the daily thing

Oh wow... hhmmmm I'd probably buy it then. People dont realize that just buying a set of wheels could already cost $300+. They are pretty much getting the wheels for free. I replaced 1 tire and already cost me $85 bucks ...

I'll sell them to you for a cheaper price and the fact that your car is also black.

Aw stupid small pictures, I didn't even noticed it was lifted up. Gosh, I sound like a dumbass in my email then.
