Whats up Mixxer! Yeah, I always get so behind and have to catch up reading I end up not knowing what to post. I'm not sure the exact offset for the stock 16" GS rims, but the general consensus seems to be +40, others say +38. The stock IS rims will fit, but you might want to put in some hubcentric spacers to 'push' it out a little.

Thanks... that seems to be what I've been seeing online. I found one where it says +48 but that might have been a typo... I guess i'll remove my bro's stock wheels and check the offset. It should be engraved there somewhere.... I'm trying to avoid putting spacers on. I'll probably just sell the daym wheels as is.

I mean they provide a valuable service but in most counties these chuckle****s need to stop giving chickenshit tickets and start providing actual law enforcement where it counts.

I just got pulled over 1/4 mile from my work as I was making a left turn. The cop wasn't even in my lane but when I slowly pulled past him making my left he pulled in behind me and hit the lights. I pulled over, he came up to the window and asked, "have you ever been in trouble with the law?" and then asked for my license and registration. I gave an "absolutely not sir" and immediately gave it to him and did the "I'm totally an awesome citizen check out how my hands are on 10 & 2" routine.

He comes back 3 minutes later, basically tosses my license and registration at me and says something so quick that I didn't even catch everything he said. "I'm not going to give you a ticket but I pulled you over because of the loud exhaust, you have a modified exhaust you have to go to a CHP something blah blah" and walks away. I mean after he found that I had nothing real he could get me on he, in a very rude f'ing way, told me to get lost.

I don't think I need to do anything at this point and I guess I'm glad I didn't get a ticket but man, that whole thing was just unnecessary. I attest that these guys don't give a crap about my exhaust or how loud my car is but are hoping that the weird looking guy in the 15 year old modified car might have some **** in his car or something on his record. If they don't find it then no biggie to them. Who gives a F if they wasted someone elses time or scared the crap out of some dude on his way to work.

In the time he was dicking around with my record he could have been posted up on the intersection a quarter mile away where pretty much everyone runs red lights. Like I said I guess I'm glad I didn't get a ticket but man, **** the police.

Whats kind of amusing is there actually was something he could have harassed the hell out of me for but alas, he missed it...

What exhaust do you have? And not to be a jerk, but you technically were breaking the law. You have to remember...we're GOING to get profiled for what we drive, especially if you have a loud exhaust and aftermarket wheels.They're probably used to getting disrespected by people "like" us all the time. Who knows, maybe he had a gun pulled on him earlier? I'm not saying it's right for him to be rude, but I am saying a lot of the time when people are in bad moods they take it out on others without realizing it

With that being said, really, what exhaust do you have? I might be interested in some sort of trade, I want something louder then what I have

Mostly I'm just annoyed about the situation and I don't wish the cops any ill will but damn they need to start doing actual law enforcement. Who gives a crap about my exhaust? And even if I was breaking the law, he obviously didn't give two shits about my exhaust after he realized I was clean. He literally gave me no direction as to what to do.

...and realize that he let you off, probably for being polite. A non fixable exhaust ticket is like, $350 if they don't reduce the fine. When I used to get pulled over (AKA profiled because of how my car looks), if they let me off with a warning I couldn't have cared less if he refered to me as little Sally Walker and told me to prance away sissy boy.

In fact, here's a good one for you - I was driving down PCH in my friends MR2 with a new gt28. My GF was driving my car. Someone called the cops on us for street racing, and they were posted waiting for us. We got next to each other, gunned it, and got pulled over. They tried to search the car, popped the engine lid on both cars, and made ME sit on the curb and patted me down and everything. I was polite the whole time (even when refusing to let them search the car/pop the engine lid without the OWNERS permission), and told the truth...the car I was driving got off with a speeding ticket and a non fixable exhaust ticket, my car just got a speeding ticket. Was I pissed that I got patted down, talked to rudely at first, and made to sit on the curb on PCH at the begining of Laguna Beach - where I got made fun by at least 3 passerbys in expensive cars? HELL NO...I got out of a potential speed racing ticket, got to keep my car, and didn't get sent to the state ref. I thanked them and told them to have a good night!

Yeah...but down in Laguna/Dana Point/San Clemente the cops really have nothing better to do that bother random people. Some of them are really nice but others are complete dicks. Probably due to the fact that 80% of the 16 yearolds roll around with cars that cost more than their salaries.

Trading for a more quiet exhaust might not be a bad idea.

Just take them to a wheel shop and get them touched up. It'll only cost you $100 or so. The bondo and paint will cost you almost that much and will probably come out looking like crap (no offense).

The guys that pulled me over turned out to be car guys. One of them had just transfered over from Newport, he was really young. He drove a SRT-4 (I was nice and said "cool man!"

). He used to take his old car to Streets of Willow, and he had taken the SRT-4 once. I got pulled over at the gas station right before Laguna Canyon dumps onto PCH. We also got in a discussion on why aftermarket BOV's suck on MR2's, haha. I explained how the whole recirculation before the AFM thing works, and how the OEM design is actually really good.

I don't want to trade for quiet...I had loud and in your face, and I kind of want it back. I miss my KO Racing R1, and both my GF and I prefer the looks of a single exit on a MR2.

Damn Hamid. That sucks. You are right it could be worse. Newport and Irvine PD are probably the worst. They really have nothing better to do. It takes 3-4 cops to give a ticket. Sorry man.

Newport I haven't had as much trouble with because they get so many tourists they're usually somewhat busy. I've heard a lot of bad things about Irvine PD.

While it is true that IPD doesn't have much to do in the way of crime, a lot of the stories you have heard is just hearsay from people who don't even live here. I been pulled over a lot (it happens when you go to college at ANY major Unniversity). Everytime I've been pulled over, the main officer has been courteous. There was only once where one was a jerk, and he wasn't even the officer "in charge". I think his partner made him stay away after that. There was also only once when more then one car came came. Everytime, I was let off with a minor fix-it ticket - brake light, head light, cracked windshield, etc. Which is small compared to what I COULD have gotten ticketed for

I live in Irvine and work in Newport. A lot of it has to do with the low crime in the area. Go out to UCLA or Riverside, cops could care less about modified cars. Thats the least of their concerns.

Most of the time people get pulled over near UCI for traffic infractions. UCI has its own PD that patrols the area. Both Irvine PD and the UCI PD are overzealous, but they're never rude to me, and I've never had any trouble in regards to my mods - and I used to daily drive a R1 single exit with a 3in DP...I could be heard from mile away, haha. I was let off probably 90% of the time I was pulled over for something. I was actually only pulled over once for driving a modified car, and I deserved it - my car WAS loud as hell
