Don't let the stories scare you but they are real life stories.... I am in no way encouraging you to ride or anything. Others say once a rider always a rider and i'm one of those heheheeheh..... RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Ji: I have shared experiences and withness quite a few accidents in my day. It sure is sad... |

^Absolutely. It is sad and almost a deterrent. I always thought I would keep riding and 'get it out of my system,' and to do it while I'm young so I won't later. I couldn't have been farther from the truth. Its like an incurable itch.
I don't think any serious rider would advocate or promote others to ride. It really is at your own risk. It sounds very hypocritical but all riders have horror stories. |

Yeah... well, what i'm selling is stricktly a track bike. I only have a bill of sale from the previous owner and i did not have any intention of registering it for the streets anyways.... I've taken it to the track maybe about 8x since I owned it and stopped in 2005. I owned it in 2002-03 or something. Need to check the bill of sale.

Its a 600. Its no different than regular street bike. Only difference is that it has race plastics (no headlight etc..) Its not super fast just because it is called a track bike LoL..... The reason I had it was because I didnt want to keep doing the prep work on my street bike at the time as far as taping the headlight, removing the signal lights, mirrors etc......
ANyway looks like yahoo geocities is back up... lets try this again.. |

It'll cost you maybe another $1K if you are planning to convert this back to a street bike.
1. You'll need the headlight (I have this peice but not looking to sell) riding buddy got dibs 2. you'll need upper cowl (I also have this piece but not looking to sell) riding buddy got dibs 3. you'll need left/right lower cowl 4. will probably need to get the tail cowl too. |

No pressure... know what you want. It looks to me that you'll need a street bike and get some riding experience first. Thats about the range I am looking for anyways. So the extra $$$ you'll have to deal with to convert this bike to a street bike, deal with the paperworks etc..., you can probably buy a regular street bike. Again, when I bought the bike, the previous owner did not have a pink slip and only had a bill of sale from the original owner. The guy lost his job and didn't want to get kicked out of his appartment or whatever. I picked up the bike somewhere up north and made a bill of sale of my own to have the guy signed etc..... The guy gave me the bill of sale that he got from the original owner and another bill of sale that I made. Thats the only proof I have of owning the bike..... Again, no intention of doing street on this so I never bothered with the paperworks. If I crash the back at the track then thats just it and will rebuild from whatever parts I can get on craigslist/ebay

Davis: ... I'd loose way too much $$$ to sell the Titan. Besides, I'm definitely not getting rid of the Titan coz I'm getting another bike. The bike will set me up to my old track junkie days heheheheheehe
Colin: Got that right... How about we go camping one of these days? I already got the truck so anything you guys need to load we can throw it at the back of my truck hehehehehee... |

dont let the horror stories scare you away. Use them as a reality check to keep your driving in check. I have only been riding for 6 months now and have taken 3 classes.
I agree riding is an itch. I always wanted to do it, and now that I am I feel like it has been something I was missing before. Masagsxr, once you get a bike and dorman finally gets one we should make a mr2 owners bike meet! |

I started riding in 1999, crashed that bike since I was a total noob and target fixation got to me. In december 2000, I got my 2001 GSXR 750. My first year on that bike I only had maybe 1K miles. After finding out that forum then showed up on the meets, 3-4months later I put in like 20K miles on the bike hahahahhaaa... Learned a lot then I became a track junkie. It sure is not expensive but doing 4 track days a year is good for low income individual like me LoL..... A friend of mine buys season pass (about 12-14 track days per year). Thats about $1100. Getting a season will save you about $500. I forwarded Dorman and Ji a track day schedule and I asked them to forward it to you since I don't know your email address. I figured you would be interested to check it out since you do look serious about improving your riding skills. Its night and day difference riding on the street and at the track. You can only improve so much on the street and stop there but at the track, you can go all out beyond your limits. Not that I am saying you should. I've done that a few times and drifted in one of the corner and I thought I was going to highside hahahahaa. Thats just if you have the balls to try, you can go a little bit over your limit at the track slowly to pickup a skill. But yeah, there are still bike nights over there. SoCalSportbikes Sportbikers.Net Forums - So Cal sportbike forum or Southern California sportbike riders forum is a sportbike forum for sport bike riders in orange county, los angeles, ventura county, san diego, san bernardino, riverside, and imperial county. When I was riding. I would ride with as much as 25 riders on weekends hitting the canyons (Idlewild, Palomar, ACH, PCH, GMR, Mulholland Drive, Latigo Canyon, Santiago Canyon, Ortega Canyon, Hemet etc....) Less group of rides I would ride with is about 5. I never ride alone since you never know when accident would happen which is why its an accident I suppose ..... Well I did ride alone when I would go to work... As far as riding canyons alone or for a cruise, I'd never go by myself. I was riding with 5 other guys when I got hit. We all ride staggered and I am in the middle but yet I am the lucky bast'd that got hit by the drunk driver.... |
