new-ish head? Why buy another head if you are going to rebuild it anyway? hhmmmm You spending $$$ you shouldn't have brother.... Tell me that you will change the internals on those and not just plug it in on the block. Also, didn't you have another engine on the side? tsk tsk tsk....

alex be gettin some head, get gettin some head.

I had a dream last night that I went shopping. As I was paying for some stuff, I looked out the glass and saw a red MR2 moving and thought 'oh crap, someone is stealing my 2!' but it turned and I saw that it wasn't mine' I breathed a sigh of relief but then I found my car in the parking lot with my eyeballs. A guy was breaking into my car about 200ft away! So natuarally, I was like HELL NO! call the coppers and I took off down the parkade (aka parking structure) and down the stairs watching my car leave me the car was too quick, but I chased after it anyways. I lose sight of it but I go with my instincts and keep running in the direction I thought it went. I run about 0.5 mile and look to my left and see my car pulled over with a bunch of people and a few cars surrounding my 2. I check out the damage (heard it bottom out) but there wasn't any. I ask his buddy (somehow I knew that he knew him) 'how did he get the wheel lock off?' and he said 'it's atcually pretty easy' to which I replied 'crap man, gotta get me something european or something' LOL Meanwhile, the citizens who were guarding the guy who stole my ride took their eyes off the guy for 2 seconds and he bolted for mansion construction site, 300ft away. 3 of us take after the guy, I let them chase him inside since they had a lead on me and I waited to see if he would come out. He does about 20 seconds later and one of the guys comes bursting out after him. The citizen pulls out a gun and shoots and kills him. I walk over shrug and say, 'that's what he gets'
DREAM OVER. Happy ending though

If that was my dream, the guy wouldn't be shot. I would have personally beat him for hours upon hours.

thumping?

can i have your guys' help on this? i'm hearing a thumping sound from my passenger front. When i drive faster the sound is more frequent. going slow it is still there. I have just replaced the hub about 20k miles ago, and the wheel does not move what so ever. when i lifted the car so it's not the hub. When i look at the suspension from underneath and spin the wheel nothing is shaking, but the sound exists. I took off the wheel/rim and spun the studs. i noticed the the disc brake wobbles is this right?? i push the disc brake from the bottom and it would move, so question is can this be the cause of this thumping what to do i'm still a car noob. t

I would assume it is the disc moving. They deffinately aren't supposed to wobble.

but to my understand when the rim is placed and tightened the disc brake shouldn't be able to move anyways since the disc brake is compressed between the bearing rim.

It could still wobble a bit somehow. You're best off fixing the disc, then see if it still makes the sound.

ooooooo...this happen to me awhile back ago. if i could remember. take off the underbody panel. sorry...don't know what the parts is called. but, it's kind of like a arm bar or tie rod. like i said..really bad with names. but, on mine. it came off. so, each time i drive or turn. it would make a noise like that. i end up welding extra metal to the body frame at the bottom. bolt it back on and no more noise.

A thump that gets faster or slower with speed? That's usually tire related right there, locked up your tires lately? Any road debris stuck on your tire? I've seen that before. The debris would hit the strut causing a noise.

i will check my tires in the morning.
driving home i was thinking what if the disc brake is deformed, like how david said. My dad likes to step on the wrench. when tightening lug nuts --" which is like 100+ lbs and possible to deform the disc maybe???

awesome picture frankie
I also checked under my car for anything loose even pulling on some stuff to see if it moves. and nope solid.

frankie, like the smg ther so clean

ey denni, i really doubt that would happen (the deformation thing)

but i had the problem frankie had, but since yours sound like it happens as you drive, i dont think frankie and i had the same problem as you are having.

+1 on checkin on tires
