I need help convincing my mom to let me sell my car so that i can get a mk2 MR2. Any suggestions? Right now I have a 96 Maxima GXE. Oh and I am in high school taking auto shop right now if that helps in any way.

Dont sell the car, use it as a daily driver.

Since your in high school, try to look for a job and save up money to buy the mr2 mk2
keep a good lookout for the car and you will find great deals.

Good luck with convincing your Mom gtouch, I sure don't have anything that can convince a Mom to let her son/daughter buy an mr2.

Definitely keep the Nissan as a daily, I wish I had a daily.

Don't sell the Maxima, you won't get enough for it to get a decent MR2. Like Cjung said you're much better off saving your cash money until you can get a decent MKII and then work on it. For $2-3K you can get something great and even with minimum wage if you're good at saving you can come up with that! Good luck.

well i have found a mk2 mr2 for 3K (which is affordable) that is a N/A near me. The mr2 would become my daily driver and i just want something a little more fun to drive.

man i think imma bury myself deep with my project, i was gonna draw and layout the 4age 16v head only one cylinder but the proj needs to be exact and i cant find any dimensions online :/ imma have to measure at home lol.

denii...don't do it man. i think it's bad luck to do it in your car. next thing you know. you're car start breaking down on you.

and i agree...having a daily diver beside the mr2 is so much better. mainly, cuz...when you're doing work on the 2. at least you have a back up car to use during the mean time.

well guys... job is starting to pick up again for me. not as fast as i want it. but, it's still work. so, on with the good news.

i'm not selling my mr2 anymore.

if all goes well, i might end up with other new mr2.

p.s... i'm still having issue with my engine. my plan on attacking this issue? going to a friend's house tomorrow and see what we can figure out.

You should save up a bit more and buy mine.

Most fun you'll have in a street legal 5S.

Mine is a daily and I love driving her to death. But like what Frankie said, I wish I had another car so down time wouldn't be an issue. That and I wish I had a garage!
