Hmm, someone else just had their timing adjusted lower and it did lower the NOx. I read that it should be lowered in several places. Yeah I had to stare at the chart for a little while to get the arrows too. hahaha.

You should probably clean his MAF, especially if he has cleaned the filter and possibly over oiled it, that will put a coat over the sensor.

Isn't the point of the rotory motor to save space and weight. I feel like the LS1 kinda defeats that purpose. It would be fast though. I've heard the FD's only really had problems with the cooling systems...not sure though.

Welcome Jim! Dorman or Ren will be the ones to talk to about that. Maybe Davis or EvilElvis will chime in too. Sorry but I'm not an AW11 guy. If you want to talk shop about them, you could also email Aaron Willis at Lithia Toyota. He's a board sponsor and has an AW11 as well. He's a good guy to know for OEM parts as well!

Yea they did have that issue. Most of the cooling issues are from residual heat that causes the hoses and other cooling system parts to fail. I know superstreet or modified did an article on how to get the heat out of the bay and how to make the fd cool better.

Another problem is they are really expensive to maintain. The apex seals usually go out in the motor every 40,000 miles.
