Help Me Pick a Color!!!
So a lot of you know I like to have things planned out in advance so I have a good idea of where I'm going with my projects. So I'm currently in the stage of picking a color for my car...this will affect a few other decisions in the cars transformation so I wanna try and figure it out pretty soon. I've narrowed it down to three choices. I wanna keep the color darker because I think it'll compliment the lines better and is a little more my style
1) Ruby Red Metallic 2) Midnight Blue Metallic 3) Slate Grey Metallic If you guys can give me your input it'd be greatly appreciated ![]() 1) Ruby Red Metallic ![]() ![]() ![]() 2) Midnight Blue Metallic ![]() ![]() 3) Slate Grey Metallic ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Mark_Dorman; 11-05-2008 at 03:34 PM.. |

^The grey is a good color. The only thing I'm unsure of is I think it might be too plain...

I don't even like reds and I love that red. Your first pic you had up was much better at portraying the color.

i voted for midnight blue... "however" I would go an extra mile to pull everything out (engine, trims, etc) and paint everything... I wouldn't wan to see the old color of the car. If you didn't wan to go that extra mile, then ruby red might be the one to go. it will still be off after you lift that hood/trunk/engine lid but at least its still red.

Oh I'm doing more than the extra mile. I'm pulling off all the windows, weather stripping, moldings, trunk, hood, doors, gas cap, engine lid, interior, etc...to have them painted separately. I will also be dropping the engine and parts in the frunk to paint flat black. This won't be a cheap easy job...I'm literally planning on rebuilding the car completely. I plan on having the most painstakenly detailed MR2. That's why I'm collecting all the parts I need now so I can get it all done by the end of next summer. Almost everything will be unique to my own car...except for the stock body

Yeah...I'm definitely A.R. when it comes to my cars. I was thinking flat black partly for the ease of it. Plus it's easier to keep the engine bay clean if it's flat black and doesn't look as bad when it get a little dusty. I just think it's kind of a classy compromise. Have you ever looked in a ferrari or lambo engine bay?
![]() ![]() I just think it looks really clean and not too glitzy. I'm more about subtle class than shinny ![]() *Not that either of those cars are subtle...but the engine bays are ![]() Last edited by Mark_Dorman; 11-05-2008 at 05:48 PM.. |

I know...I wish I could make my v6 look that amazing. I have big plans but we'll see if I can actually make them all work. I'm probably gonna powder coat a lot of the engine components as well. I wanna be able to clean the engine bay without worrying about damaging anything or scratching any finishes. I really like the Lambe engine's color scheme (if you can call black and silver a color scheme).
