Thank you so much for that piece. I have something similar I used to describe myself when I had a myspace because no one else can understand what car enthusiasts feel when it comes to driving the Touge. Here is what I wrote:

In the midst of darkness, a feint light can be seen. A room dimly illuminated by the screen of a Computer provides this light in the darkness. One man sits behind this screen. He sits there, almost as if he is waiting. Others his age are out and about, engaging in what seems to him as worthless activities. Yet, he sits as his full attention is consumed by the amount of work needing to be done on the Computer. Then, something pulls him towards his desire and passion. An Instant Message pops up, and all it says is "Let's Run." Instinctively, he gets up from his chair and picks up a set of keys, and a pair of gloves. In the silence of the night, a rumbling noise from a usually dormant house is heard. Tail lights flash, and with the push of the Ignition start button, a powerful sound blasts from the unexpected vehicle. The engine exudes strength, power, and potential. The rumbling of the exhaust can be heard all over as the driver revs. A high pitch noise comes from the engine revealing the high boost output of the unexpected coupe. In a few corners, the car is off. Speeding through corners at more than twice the speed they were meant to be traveled. In the distance, you can hear the beautiful sound of singing tires in the distance as he drives and DRIFTS farther and farther away, into the peaks of the mountains. This is my reality, a world I so vividly live in.

My car is like my girlfriend
Providing fun times and great memories
But with every relationship
comes a price...

Fighting increases passion
And no matter what you do
Maintenance is always requried...

But just when you question her value
Her potential shines through
And you remember...
Why you fell in love

^and that is why I'm not a poet and I know it

haha yeah action is better than words
i really liked that lil poem Mark!
i have been writing my whole life, long before i was a gearhead
so i guess it just comes natural to me to express emotions thru prose
and we all know how emotional our cars make us

I can't drive the MR2 yet, it's not finished. But I do drive DD on the Touge from time to time. We should do a meet and cruise soon.
