If you're ever up for a road trip...the best roads to drive are the ones up near Lake Trinity (shasta) to Humbolt and the Redwoods. Check out the pics ^
Here's a little map...kinda gives you an idea... ![]() |

just caught up...
OUCH! (mark you got lucky i have had 1 homie die and two that couldn't walk for a few months due to riding the canyon on a bike) Mark, those mountain pics u put up, are those the ones from the map? or somewhere else? it was beautiful...i'd love to plan a road trip but i am a starving student so its gonna be a while before i have money or time for such things... i will have to take some pics of my mountain and put them up for you. yeah i am gonna do that this weekend! ![]() As for driving the canyons i agree that it takes time to get them down, and the the more you run them the more proficient you will be. But no matter how well you know the canyon, you can never predict the worse enemy of all....gravel (and wildlife)! ![]() That is why i usually run grip vs. drift (that and the fact i can't afford tires!) I think because i live by this philosophy is the reason why i haven't yet had a canyon incident in any form (*knock on wood*) |

That's rough...I've only had one friend die from an accident and it wasn't even his fault. It's really tragic to die young... Quote:
I'm definitely down for a road trip. Maybe this summer or over a three day weekend. It'd be awesome! Quote:

Witness a very good friend died in front of me when he highsided over at angeles crest.
. I still feel very much responsible. It was his first time riding the canyon and I took him up there. ![]() ![]() ... The saddest thing is that, they were twins and both of them were with me ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Saddest moment i've ever experienced having his twin watch his bro pass away ![]() ![]() |

oh im so sorry to hear that!
![]() my uncle just passed a few months ago (motorcycle accident, not his fault), and my homegirl just passed on the 14th (not auto related, pill and alcohol related)... ![]() it seems every year now i am going to at least one funeral.... don't carry the weight of the blame. he was making his own decisions and you can't fault yourself for what happened.... ah the canyons claim as many as they release... |

I know.. thats what everyone said on the local forum I go to for sportbikes... We were only suppose to cruise it up there. It was just he did not know about the road much and didn't expect the turn

Damn Mixxer. Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you are still with us. I had a family friend loose both his legs in a motorcycle accident (not his fault), which is why I sold my bikes and stopped riding since late 2007. I count my blessings that I'm still alive after all the years I rode. There are some crazies out there and as much as I want to start riding again, its stories like these that make me give it a second thought.

yeah... still want to hop back on tho and will when I get a chance... I miss riding. I was a track junky after my friend pass away coz I was getting too fast for the canyon and its just not worth it. Every time I go to the canyon I just cruise it and took it to the track and open the throttle up
