i remember the "proper restoration for tail lights thread" that was on here.. he did 5 black coats and 3 clear i think... maybe i'll just do 2 black 2 clear

I've used it...and no...not quite. you'll want to do a thin coat, wet sand, thin coat, wet sand, thin coat, wet sand, med coat, wet sand, rubbing compound (buff and polish).

whats the med coat? and what grit should i be wet sanding with once clear coated...

i have 800s and 1 small piece of 2000 xD thought you said not to do so many coats too...

Thanks davis. I'd start with 800 on the first two clear coats. then 1000 for the third, and do a 1000 then 2000 on the final before rubbing compound...
