Fair price for a 1991 Turbo-swapped MR2?
Hey guys and gals,
I'm sad to say that I'm planning on parting with my beloved MR2 due to some school-related financial obligations I was wondering what price I should ask for it and I figured you guys would provide the most accurate estimate. Here are the specs:+102,000 mi on body (no accidents, immaculate paint) +Desirable hardtop model w/ manual windows +3,000 mi. on professionally installed gen II 3sgte engine +"Smog-friendly" conversion includes an EGR and American ECU ($600) +Still retains JDM ceramic turbocharger +Manual Boost controller and boost gauge +3sgte fuel pump +Aftermarket clutch with plenty of life left +Fluids recently changed, timing belt job done with swap +Never street raced or tracked +Tires have lots of tread left on them Now for the negatives: -Needs shocks soon -speakers are going bad This is one of the most solid and mint '91 MR2s I've seen in So Cal and I know that it's rare to find one in such a good condition. The only other 1991 MR2 turbos up for sale on Autotrader and Cars.com within 100 miles of my zip code (91745) are being sold from $8500 and beyond. I realize that mine is not a factory turbo so I'm taking that into consideration. So what is a fair price to ask guys? Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Wow hard to say... I guess if it was my car and i put that much work i would want to get at least $8500 for it.
Good luck tho... and don't worry. School will pay off. Keep up the good work. |

Thanks for the replies guys! I know the economy is in the crapper right now, but $6,000? Clean, mint MR2s, even 91' NAs, are a commodity here in So Cal so I doubt that expecting at least $7,500 is that unrealistic of me. At least I hope so
If anyone is interested or knows an interested party, please send me a PM! Thanks! ![]() |
