I found one heck of a gem (transmission).
When I picked up the project MR2 we were put in touch with a guy that has left the MR2 Drift community and was getting rid of some parts. There were a couple of LSD trannys... brand-freaking-new.
With that said, I am taking one for myself obviously and I have a spare that I would like to sell. Because this thing is brand new I would love to give this to a local mr2 for $1300. Give me a call, 909.949.0550 - Stork (This would be in the for sale section, but I am not really willing to ship the thing and would much rather a local person pick this up to help support the community) |

Na, the guy said that he did not have any axles. If I were smart I would keep the second tranny as a back up incase I blew this one... but I'm more generous than intelligent at times haha.
I was looking around last night and saw a couple LSD axles, not sure if they were abs or not, for $200 on mr2oc I think. All I need are 2 sets of axles; one to keep and one to sell as mates to this other tranny. If you guys know anyone that would like one of these, just let them know there is a fresh one in Montclair needing a nice home. |

However, the first few 2's that come in will get a really nice deal as we are learning the platforms. I've played with a few personally so I do not think it would take too too much to pick up on these as we all learn with a very aggressive curve. Let me make a few calls tomorrow and I'll get back to you. Also, turns out the guy was misinformed. They are not LSD's but they are still brand new. So I'll be putting a LSD and keeping one. Will sell the other one for around a grand. He really had my hopes up dang it. |

It's gonna be hard to get a grand for a non-lsd E153. $850 I think would be a good price. Install is not gonna be fun (speaking from first hand experience).

thats coz we didn't have a cherry picker hahahahaa.... I seriously think we woulda save hours if we had one.... All we need to remove is the clutch line, all the engine/tranny mounts and there it goes... Oh, cross member too i suppose.... I think with us for (u, davis, colin and myself) that would be an easy 1-2 hours there and about another 2 hours to put it back in.

Its actually more than that since we didn't completely finish. How much work you put on her so far putting the other small pieces back on? Was expecting about 4-5 hours we would be test riding her same day

Well...putting the parts back on too about an hour. Bleeding the line (2 hours) which still has an issue will take a few more hours I'm guessing...

I just spoke with our local Toyota service rep and they quoted 15 hours of labor believe it or not. Spoke with a local competitor and they quoted $650 and a day turn around time.
So with that said and we were pulling the old one and putting in a new one, we could do it for $450 with fluids and have it ready for pick up that evening if it were dropped off in the morning. |
