hey guys,
kind of a random question but did anyone of you guys go to the Longo Toyota Lexus meet in Irwindale last sunday? I saw a steel mist grey mr2 turbo with 94-95 tail lights sitting on blitz rims. Just curious who owns that nice ride. Also, I'd like to say...HELLO fellow mr2 owners! I've been a member for sometime now but never really posted on the socal forum. That's actually cuz I didn't know of it and...so yea...here I am ![]() |

Thanks for all the lively welcomes haha
But sorry I didn't take any pictures at the event. I forgot to bring my camera which was a stupid idea haha. I did record the skyline run vs. the ISF when he hit 7.80 seconds on the strip, but it was recorded on my phone so the quality is real crap. I gotta remember to bring my camera next time haha ![]() |

yea that was when the skyline hit 7.8. I heard the first run it hit low 8s, but I didn't witness it. I don't know why but before the race the girls had switched cars. I think it may have been because the girl that was driving the gtr onto the strip, she had almost hit the wall on that right turn. But on launch she was struggling to get grip. I think she could have hit a better time

OOO hahah misunderstood you ![]() It's not much yet but I'm still in the process of getting parts for her. So far I only got Volk CV Pros and planning to install the tanabe under body brace this week. Next plan is new sway bars and getting the polyurethane bushings from twosrus. After that hopefully I can find a good deal on konis w/ H&R springs. Then I'll be a happy little camper haha |

Thanks o6spdracer.
Did you mean the strut tower brace? I was considering getting the TRD one but that's money that I don't have to spend haha. I've been looking on the F/S forums for anything of interest, but haven't been lucky lately. I did see a set of konis, but they were sold in 2 hrs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is the situation, but if you buy a set of konis and use them pass their prime, does koni exchange them or repair them for you for free? I've been told that koni comes with lifetime warranty as long as you have the receipt or the warranty card. This is one of the reasons why I want to get konis because I'm just cheap and figure it'd be a good investment if that were the deal. To randomxzero, In fact, I did post the picture on another thread where I was asking for advice on which set of rims I should get. I just haven't had the chance to take new pics of it with my digital camera because...well I'm just lazy haha. And plus I like the way it looks from the picture I took with my camera phone since you can't really tell the paint behind the t-top is fading pretty badly. I'd prefer to get a paintjob before I take a nice picture of it, but that's just me |

Yep the strut tower braces. Yeah they are a bit pricey but definitely worth it because they are functional and TRD! hahaha. I'm sure you could get another brand that will do the same job, but it won't have the 'cool' factor. haha. I believe Koni will rebuild the blown strut, but that means you will either have to put your stock ones on or the car will be out of commission for awhile. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one.
If you can find a set of front and rear Koni's for less than $500, I think that is a great deal. Konis are definitely very nice, but if you are on a budget, just get some KYB AGX and use the difference for some TRD bars! |

Well.. I was doing some research regarding the problem on Alex car and stumbled upon this link.
MKI MR2 Write-ups We'd had some mini-meet of some sort over here at my place and did some coolant flush. I know very well that is the right way but I guess we're all just lazy to do just that hahahahaaa.... After seeing that link, maybe it'll make you guys think twice ![]() |
