With visual? hhmmm what do you have? Headers no stamp? If so, borrow someone's heat shield
..... Only thing they really look is if you have a catalytic converter. They have to test charcoal canister too so I doubt you can get away not having that if you bypassed it.GOod luck. |

Berk IC, HKS BOV, KO Intake, Berk exhaust.. I've passed before with the cat installed with no problems. But the tech was cool with the visual.
I've been to a couple places where they didnt even know what they were looking at, and turned me away. -Paul |

You should go back to the same place you had it done the first time... Man all the aftermarket replacements you have there are fine. But I agree, not a lot of smog guys are very knowledgable. I heard they are not necessarily a "mechanic". They just have to pass some test to be a smog technician certified.... If you are confident with your car passing, you should challenge them and say just hookup the damn smog and let the numbers (results) do the talking hehehee....

Not true - to be a CA smog tech you have to be at least a ASE Certified Master technician or have a degree/certificate in advanced automotive technology. It takes a lot to be a smog tech. The ones that are not "knowledgeable" usually just don't care......
In terms of your mods, the only thing that I see that would fail you on visual is the BOV (unless it is a recirculating one), you can have the Berk exhaust on as long as the primary cat is on. |

I suppose there have been more and more of those "who just dont care"... Good to know but sad to know the truth... I was pretty much leading to believe on what I said and thought it was true...
Well, thanks for the insight Ben. It sucks that those people would turn down business just to say "they don't know whats under the hood" like what Paul up there was saying... |

There are done in OC so if you really can't get it doneout there I know a smog only place that doesn't give a damn on visual. Personally my stuff is illegal but it cost me $250 and I got that as a friend move from a shop. Let me know if you can't get it done and have to go to OC. I know it's far but just trying to help.
