i have the 91 premium system... just to clarify... there's no available harness that i can purchase online to make it plug and play right???
... if this is the case, the one that crutchfield is selling with the amp bypass harness wouldn't work in my car??? |

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit 6 1\2" subs in the original sub boxes behind the seats?
Originally both the door speakers and subs are 5 1\4", but doors can take 6 1\2" speakers. So i need to know if this is the case with the original sub boxes as well. Kicker makes a 6 1\2" sub. If this fits I''ll try that. If not I have to try the 13cm sub that focal makes. |

The stock rear speakers in my 93 were 3-1/2" - no premium sound system. Aftermarket 3-1/2" speakers fit right in without modification.
If you are willing to cut and bend you can go pretty big though like Monopolizedinc mentioned earlier. I have JBL 5-1/4" in the rear and they are 125W RMS and 500W Peak, not a small speaker by any means. Just had to remove the bracket for the stock speaker and maybe bend something out of the way and drill new mounting holes. I also managed to put a 6-1/2" in the door which is a 150W RMS and 600W Peak. Had to cut metal to make it fit and also trim the inside of the plastic cover. Also both sets came with a pair of 1" titanium tweeters that fit just fine in the stock location without any modification. Last edited by mrturrari; 10-07-2009 at 03:21 AM. |

I picked up some 2 way 4x6s, I was thinking about putting them in the back, replacing the 3's on my 91 w/premium sound. Any thoughts?
