-=- How to Set Up Different Throttle Bodies in AEM? -=-

Hi guys,

I haven't installed my AEM yet, as I plan on installing it at the same time as my RMR intake manifold, and BBK 80mm TB. I am confident I can get the car running well enough as I have the battery offset information for the injectors I am using, but I am not really sure on how to set up the AEM to work with the new TPS.

Any help would be appreciated. =)

Pretty much all non-switch TPSes have 3 wires: High, signal and ground. Some have switches in them like the stock TPS. This switch will occupy a 4th pin. So for starters, which TPS are you using??

Wire in the sensor to the EMS. You should see increasing throttle % values with the EMS powered up, synched with the laptop, and the key on.

Now, calibrate the TPS. This isn't as simple as some think, especially with the AEM EMS.

If your throttle % drops below 0% or above 100%, the EMS value wraps around to the other extreme immediately. This means your closed-throttle TPS value should come close to, but not exceed 0% and 100% at closed and open positions. I usually use a 2% margin on both ends.

Here's the important part: Test with the sensor both warm and cold (engine warm and cold). TPS values move a little with engine temp. This is why Toyota put a switch in their TPSes.
