If I want to use the 12v switched outputs on the C plug (auxillary/ extra unused plug) on the AEM how do I enable the output. Does it automatically work just by hooking it up? I am just trying to find a 12v ignition wire for my MSD 6A and the tach adapter. Is there any other wires that I could tap into if I can't use these? Also, when it says "switched" does that mean that it will switch on when the ignition is turned on. Anyone else use the MSD box with the AEM and if so where did you hook up the ignition wires???

It's not advised to run switched power (which is indeed +12 volt power that comes on with the key) through the AEM EMS. You would have to GUARANTEE your current draw would NEVER go higher than the EMS spec, under ANY circumstance, or risk blowing your $1000+ EMS.
Wire it up to switched high off the circuit opening relay. |

I posted the answer to this in the AEM EMS forum thread someone started on the same topic. Apparently, it's a hot issue.
Switched high is in the fuse box coming off the circuit opening relay. Do you have a set of BGBs? I can teach you how to read those wiring diagrams if you want. Once you learn a few basics, this stuff becomes pretty easy. |
