AEM Delay Pickup Comp

After I installed my AEM EMS, my car started up effortlessly. I adjusted the crank advance and got everything set and started it. No problem. Well I sychronized my timing with no problems. I' find that after the ignition map is completely set to 10, when I rev the engine past 4000 the timing light indicates a slight drift of about 2 to 3 deg retarded. The manual says that this happens to adjust the delay pickup comp yet offers on more info than that. How do I do this and is this common on my Mr2 T? Also, the base ignition map looks fairly aggressive. Any hints on where I can set this map for an mild ignition. A starting point ignition map???

Thanks
