AEM - Idle Timing HELP!!
Hi out there in AEM land.
So I got my AEM installed and the tuner said I had an oil leak..VC. I replaced the gasket and fixed that, but discovered the distributor was leaking oil as well. So I sent it off to ATS and they rebuilt it for me. Installed in the car, but cannot get the car re-timed. I am trying to follow the AEM guide, go into the ECU and set ignition timing. I see the degree value is like at 29 and if I set my timing light to the same degree the little white mark is way past the 0 degree hash mark. No matter where I turn the distributor to..and how I advance or retard, I can't seem to give the car any gas without it stuttering or backfiring...and I can't seem to get the white mark back into the hash marks on the timing cover. Can someone please help me out here? What am I missing--doing wrong? I will be glad to PM my phone number or IM for some help. Thanks!! |

So it turned out to be a bad distributor rebuild. Just an FYI to those that were wondering?
