Matco makes Kobalt

They aren't brought to the same quality standards. It's kind of like saying
Linksys is Cisco. Not really Linksys are Cisco designs but can still fail some
Cisco quality standards.

But what I'm getting at is Matco makes Kobalt. Matco is a division of
Danaher who also makes Kobalt. If you are at Lowe's thinking wow
that Kobalt tool chest looks just like a Matco. It's because it is with a
different logo. I'm not sure how far down the line that goes.
Regardless if Kobalt has a lifetime warranty, and is made by Matco with
a cheaper price, how could you really go wrong?

Just thought I would share my findings for the budget guys like me that
also want nice tools. I mean if I had a few million in the bank I would have
Snap-On everything. I've used lots of their tools before and I love them but
turning wrenches isn't my job; it's my hobby.

for a hobbyist, Kobalt tools are more than adequete!! i was fortunate enough to inherit a ton of Matco, MAC, and Snap-on tools from the rents, but before i had those, craftsman and Kobalt did me well!!

Even our notorious "NoShoes" has a majority of craftsman in his tool box. Kobalt definately has quality tools, and you cant go wrong if you dont know how to wrongfully use your tools. they only break (yes, this is a generalization) if you use them improperly.

FTR, I have the Kobalt tool box (the one with the radio and fridge) and it houses all my snap-on and matco tools :P
