Turbo Upgrade Kits
While owning an NA for the past year, I recently purchased a 91 MR2 Turbo and realized i knew nothing about it. With the car i recieved an extra jdm gen 2 motor with it that ill be building over the next year or so. So I have begun researching Toyota MR2 upgrade turbo kits and would like to share with you guys what I have found. If anyone knows of another kit that I have not found in my search, please post them here. I didnt put the prices due to the fact that im sure they change everyonce in awhile, and i dont want to keep up with them.

some good info on there too good work!
PERSONALY i would take a garret turbo just because there are many parts out there for them and that they are easier to come by period as well so replacment isnt so costly if something happens to turbo. Now second to that iw oul go for a company that has 70%+ products related to toyotas and specificaly MR2's. That brings you down to KO or ATS....and since KO uses my fav t3/t4 turbo...thats just me :P But i do know that if your thinking about greddy i would avoid it becuase from what i read the greddy kit isnt that great and that ATS has made some mods to it that are avalible for it if you ever got the greddy kit...i forgot what extacly the problem was but again...get something that was properly deisgned for the car, KO or ATS....my 2cents... Now its late and i know my spelling is way off.....so good luck in your searchs!

you mean the one that i listed in the first post?
The link is to the main turbo kit page from ATS, i figured if you were willing to check out there site, you would see the rest of the kits such as the ct27, TD05 and TD07 in that link. |

the greddy t78 kit is really nicely made, I have one and it even came with numerous braces to hold the big weight of the turbo (it is huge) also you can use any t4 flanged turbo with it if you don't find the t78's late boost onset to your liking. You also have to make sure to use all the provided shielding with any turbo kit.

toytech - good info, thanks man. Your post is exactly what i want to see when i get these posts linked to individual kit product reviews in the appropriate section. give me time
![]() TigerJC - thought about that, i think it should be left in the product review section. I didnt want to crowd the posts with personal information and opinions. who knows, someone might have a good dealing with them and this whole thread become a big "i hate them" or "i love them" section and thats not why i researched and wrote the above info. weasy - ya, im really looking forward to ats's garrett stuff coming out. |
