they're on their website. jpautoworks.com

The flange is different because this was for one of their turbo kits that they made, but the designs are very similar

While I really do believe in supporting the vendors of the community, I personally found it difficult to justify spending $250 on a down pipe when I could buy 4 ebay downpipes for the same price. We installed on another MR2 with the initial concerns of cracking but it's been fine for many months now. So I picked one up myself. In both instances of the install we had no issues with the downpipe bolting up with the stock exhaust or turbine exducer.

Right, OBX also calls this part a "downpipe," more commonly I hear it referred to as a "B-Pipe."

Yeah, its the B-Pipe as referred to on MR2s.

Its kinda wierd different cars have different terminology. Like Subarus, they have up pipes, downpipes mid pipes lol.

And DSMs, dont have a downpipe the have an "o2 housing" and the "downpipe" is the part after the o2 housing.

crazy stuff I tell ya

we are right, everyone else is wierd

I updated the tanabe area with the "not a downpipe" information. I knew that from the beginning, I just didn't think of putting that up. Thanks!

its also funny how they describe the dp as

"The Turbine Tube, also known as a downpipe, extracts the most power from turbocharged vehicle applications. Turbo efficiency, power and response is greatly improved. Each downpipe has an EGT Bung with cap for those who wish to monitor exhaust gas temperatures, without having to drill into their downpipe and void their warranty. Replaces pipe from turbo to the stock main catalyzer, which is kept. Best mated when used with any Tanabe catback exhaust system."

and yet i had to argue with tanabe for a little over a month about it because when i first told them it wasnt a dp they told me it bolts to the cat back but their summary said otherwise. it also doesnt have an o2 sensor as it says on their actual site. -- false advertisement anyone ?

Pretty newb question here guys, but i was hoping you guys could explain the set-up. ON my Mazda 6 (4 cyl.) it's header-resonator-cat... how is it set-up on the MR2 turbo? I think i read somewhere there were 2 cat's? I am very interested in getting the Berk Dp, is this going to delete one of the cat's and cause a CEL? Or not allow me to pass emissions?

on stock mr2s it goes headers, dp,cat,b-pipe w/ resonator, 2nd cat, muffler. my set up goes: headers, dp, b-pipe w/resonater, and muffler. as for the berk dp, ive never used it but ive got the apex gt catback and greddy turbo kit dp.

Exhaust manifold, turbine, downpipe (OEM assembly is elbow+cat), b-pipe/flex pipe, muffler section.

Correct.

Yes, it will delete the primary cat, no, it wont throw a CEL.

1 is enough to pass most sniffers. If you don't have a catback exhaust yet, i'd buy that instead of the downpipe. The primary cat works well for what it's supposed to do and the biggest exhaust restriction is in the b-pipe, not downpipe.

Thank you so much Sang... i had planned on getting the RSR exhaust (i have link if you need it, but your probably already familiar). I would still be able to go with the Berk DP correct? Seems most gains are made from a DP on Turbo's!?!?

A little quicker spool, I still have the stock restrictive ass exhaust past the DP so it'll probably get a lot more noticeable after I get that. All I have is the DP, boost controller 16ish PSI, and a intake. I do like the sound of it decated though.

PS: I got some sound clips in the Gen3 forums.

Im waiting for Berk's DP they are currently making, and was wondering if i will be fine with there (Berk's) 3" exhaust and the stock DP. I have other mods as well, but not sure if it matters. How much power will i get once adding the Berk DP?
