Whatever you do stay TF away from ssautochrome!! I sent an email there to ask about their turbo kit. Got told to send a mail to some other addy not in the ssautochrome domain!! I was like
but sent the mail anyway. I got a, let's call it terse, answer along the lines of 'it costs this much, now **** off!'. On top of that there have been so many horror stories about xs and ss that I just wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them! Having said that the IC reviews were almost all good. |

On *bay there are tons on IC's, tons of cheap ones, can anyone tell me why this 219 is good or not good. I believe in the "get what you pay for" motto but dont understand whats wrong with this compared to a spearco etc. Please before you reply dont just say it sucks, tell me why it sucks, it would be much appreciated.

How big is that IC? I'm no expert on IC but I think the things to look for are:
1) core size 2) material quality (welds, finish etc) 3) piping (angles, diameter) 4) extras (hose, clamps, shrouds) 5) service anyone else? |

eBay IC cores: for low power only The greddy (what SSAC copied) even does a better job... Here is a 430whp dyno of a greddy smic, doing the same heatsoaking at the 430whp level. MR2 Owners Club Message Board™ These cars were from the same tuner (RickyB) and same dyno (TH). -Sang |

what about the "godspeed" ic's on ebay ..
they got a 4" core, and 2 1/4" piping .. im only looking for 300hp at the wheels max., would that be a good choice of IC whenever i find $220 lying around .. ![]() |

Can anyone point in the right direction to where I can get that top mounted Border intercooler, if not then maybe the fullrace top mount. Seems I can't buy them off their online stores

is this thread dead ? hehe . well I am pretty much looking into this one atm
eBay Motors: SW20 3S-GTE MR2 Intercooler Piping Kit + Air Pipe (item 190291791453 end time Mar-14-09 14:45:00 PDT) looks very nice only thing i would be missing is the fan Recirculation Shield and maybe a puller fan with its shroud in the future .. |

Go purchase an EMSPowered intercooler, KO Racing intercooler, ATS Racing intercooler, or Berk intercooler. They are all pretty equal as far as power is concerned. |

you are both right, i bought an ebay kit, which from all i can tell the IC is the same as berk/ems/ats ect. but, i want (don't need) better clamps and a different color hoses. the good thing about a vendors product is you get everything you need, IC, fan, fan shroud, pipes that fit good, clamps that work good, and good hoses. I bought an ebay kit for about $150 over a year ago, but went to ATS for their high powered fan and shroud so it ended up costing about $380-400 anyways. which when it's on sale, EMS or ATS full kits are about the same, plus you can usually trust the venders vs. ebay. HOWEVER... this kit seems to come with more options and is more of a complete kit (minus the fan/shrouds) with a larger hot pipe with bov adaptors, kinda makes me wonder if i can get a hot pipe from them for cheaper than the venders... ![]() |

well yeah tbh . the vendor kits are about $600 give or take + shipping . this ebay one is $200 + shipping + fan and fan accessories from vendors it will go up to $350 . still almost half the price . also clamps are very very cheap at least where im living .
also i pay import tax of 4.16% on the total price paid with shipping included and then 15% more vat after import tax is added. i.e 600x4.16% = 24.96 and then 624.96x15% = 93.74 so that means i would pay like $130 more in customs for a $600 ic kit.. so for me atleast the cheapest the better |

I found a website of this guy who sells stuff for mr2s in the UK . The Berk Technology kit is at a very nice price but at the same time found a website of an mr2 owner who found that the pipe going from the intercooler to TB inlet is too high and therefor he couldnt use his TRD strut brace until he got the emspowered pipe

You might want to put that your in the UK in your profile, that way it's more clear where you live, there's a cyprus in california so i thought you were living there. One thing you can do, is by a cheapy strut bar off ebay which i might be doing soon, and use that instead of the TRD bar. just a thought. |

i just mentioned the UK seller because he is closer and cheaper and i wouldnt have to pay any customs for the parts . The Cyprus I live has nothing to do with the UK . I dont have the TRD strut bar but i do have the oem X shaped one which is pretty much the same the the IC pipe would still touch it
