So you're saying it's ok to buy the product, just drive it like it's some 300k rust bucket. OK

im still standing on the fence ..

ive been looking around and see a lot of "dont by that $hit" ...

and ive seen people who say there products are awsome for the price ..

so i guess ill see for myself in about an hour ..

................................

only complaint ive seen is about the manifolds, but im sure a few minutes of welding can take care of a crack .. and ive seen a couple people say there turbo leaked oil when they first boosted it, but after a rebuild kit the turbo was good to go ..

1) i need a turbo ASAP, mine is trash (started spitting metal)
2) dont have any money since i just bought the car
3) dont feel like sitting around not driving the car untill the money "shows up"
4) i need the car for school
5)why the hell doesnt anyone have a open mind about $hit like this instead of reverting to the all popular choice of "thats junk" ..

i havent said "YES" or "NO" yet, and im going to look at the kit INSTALLED on mr2gq's car first before i make a decision ..

6) Do what you want to do. It's your car. People have opinions, and will never stop having them. You can't convince everyone in the world your idea is good because frankly. It isn't. IMO

Go look at the guys car. If you like what you see. By all means buy. Now, if something goes wrong, don't post a thread saying "oh nooes.. SSAC is going to get sued for ruining my deuce"

I think you guys are mistaking "research" for ignorance. Your research is just basically the combination of IGNORING the advice, research, experience, and proof that others have done and posted about in the hopes that you may have somehow found the fountain of youth while others have been wrong. This is not the case guys. These parts have been proven time and time again to be inferior, poorly built, GLUED together in some cases, poorly designed and WILL cause damage to your motor when they break.

Nobody is flaming you here, but the ignorance and blatant blindness of your ways (and many others like you before you were here) is what gets people flamed and ridiculed.

What happens next? One of the following:

* you look at the stuff, laugh and move on

* you take the advice of people who have been there and done that and stop chasing a fools dream

* you take the plunge, order the parts. You either get lucky and get the kit for the right car or get unlucky and get the kit for the WRONG CAR, as which is the case many times with these cheap knockoff kits. Then you install the stuff, it either fits or doesn't fit. Lets just say it fits. Then you are disappointed when your car is slower than it was before, then eventually a piece of the compressor wheel goes flying through your motor and you end up having to spend several thousand dollars rebuilding your motor. In 99.999% of these cases the owner is usually too much of a panzy to fess up and come back on here and share his story.

So anyway, good luck with your modifications.

it's funny when you say "blind to the fact"... when the fact IS, is that everybody that I know who has this ssac/xspower stuff has been running it great!!! This really coincides where I'm coming from, ya know? The internet tells a different story, yet the people i see in person running this shiit is having great success. Also, I find it funny as to how quickly vendors get involved in these ssac/ebay discussions LOL? I am in no means praising these products. It's just a very broad spectrum of opinions, successes, and fails that makes it hard for me to pinpoint these products.

I still would like to see somebody running an XSturbo though. and not just some joe saying that he had one and it split in half... still skeptic however.

Ken no longer owns an MR2 and doesn't sell MR2 parts. I/EMSPowered don't sell any turbo kits. So I see no pont in saying its funny how vendors get involved. I think what you're missing here is that the people commenting against these kits have been around this stuff way longer and have seen the horror stories and the crap that has come from the use of such products.

But you guys carry on. Good luck making 250-300rwhp with HORRIBLE spool on a crap turbo kit that won't even outperform the stock turbo.

This is why I "research" first!!! Some dynos and specs would be nice... and the mileage logged on the turbos as well. Saying "oh it's crap", doesn't do much. I'm a hard pressed skeptic. I really have to see something to believe it. Hard evidence is what I'm always pursuing, and especially when it comes to this ebay stuff. Hence why I like hearing from the brave ones that took the plunge to get this stuff are fairing up...

hmmm funny my turbo spools fine. The header and DP for the CT26i got from SS also wasnt a bad deal. The only thing that had to be done was al ittle grinding so the wastegate open all the way. Other than that no leaks nothing. Ran fine till my rod spun a bearing. But hell for I think I paid 175$ for both you cant beat that with a stick. And you might not sell turbo products but you do sell a DP pipe that looks IDENTICAL to the SS one.

What's your point? Baktash has unprecedented customer service and is willing to back any product he sells. Good luck finding that from an eBay turbo kit seller.

Regardless, finding a few people who claim to be happy with their eBay turbo kit has hardly research. You've got a bunch of people that have installed it and it works "great" and a bunch of people that are too proud to admit it hasn't. Then you have a truck load of people who admit to having huge problems nearly immediately or not far down the road.

Are you willing to gamble your engine's life because a few people (who are very far and few between) claim that the kit is great? Given SSAC's turbo track record, I know I'm sure not.

You're admitting to searching for a specific answer then. You just don't want to accept the fact that a bunch of "Joes" have had horrible experiences.

Well adrian just left my house and I took him for a quick ride down the street and was impressed by the way it spooled. Obviously I didnt beat the balls off it or nothing cauase my brand new motor only has 300 miles on it and im breaking it in still, but I got in it enough for him to feel the spool and hear the external wastegate hehe. Im sure he will be back home in about 45mins or so and talk about it. Now im bout ot leav and knock the bottom out something ( l ) lol

Ok, I'm a bit confused. You have a "brand new" I'm assuming rebuilt motor(that probably wasn't cheap **granted you bought another motor**). Then you turn around and slap a chepo ebay XS power turbo kit on it.... That just seems counterproductive to me.

i dont know man .. im gonna buy that kit ..

you definitly cannot beat that kit for $400 .. he didnt even rev it up much and it spools right up and feels awsome ..

even if the manifold cracks .. WELD IT and brace the turbo ..

if the turbo blows up, buy a new one on ebay .. $200 new is alot cheaper than a ct26 ($500)

if the wastegate is crap .. get a good one ..$100 at most ..

dont know how a downpipe could go wrong ..

im not going to use the BOV since mine works just fine .. so i dont see anything wrong with this kit ..

im ordering it right now, so ill let yall know how it goes when it gets here .. if its anything like mr2gq's then ill be happy ...

even with replacing the turbo and wastegate with a new one .. and fixing the manifold if the welds brake .. it still doesnt take it up to $2200 like similar kits ..
