I've been looking into this kit as well for some time now. I was just looking at their site and they actually have a sale right now for the same turbo kit minus the manifold for only $275 shipped-

Monthly Specials Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

Hey guys I'm only about 35 minutes from the summit off 75, I'd like to see that kit as well after you get it all broke it.

These threads are always too funny.

Usually the buyer admits that the manifold is garbage, the wastegate is no good and needs to be replaced and the downpipes often cause issues. BUT the $200 turbo, noone ever seems to want to admit that the turbo likely follows the same pattern. How can you go wrong for $200, right?

No 00+ vette gets 28 mpg. 26 maybe with only highway driving. Average I'd say 20-22.

The place I bought my 03 Impala from sells mostly Vettes. Beautiful ones too. Don't think they have one for 18-20k.... Not there at least. The owner told me they only buy/sell the best. You could probably get an 02 for 18-20k. I wouldn't buy it. It was probably anally raped from day 1.

its missing the downpipe and the manifold .. but the other parts are the same .. so for another $125 you get a manifold / downpipe

as for being in ATL .. AWSOME .. me and mr2gq both got red 91 turbo's with the SS t3/t4 kit ... if all goes well we might have three .. hahaha ..

when the summit racing monday night car shows start back up, we need to get a mr2 club / meet type thing going ..

there are a couple others on here that are in the area too ..

(and you mean broke IN right, haha .. broke it, i allready see it coming .. you screwed it for all of us now damnit .. haha )

Hmmm its funny my wastegate is fine and my turbo along with everything else. If something screws up ill be the first to post about it. As of right now I have no complaints. You ever think that maybe sometimes its installer error as to why something is leaking or F's up??? Like maybe the dumb azz doesnt know to prime the turbo before you install it, or you can't go one after the other when tightening a exhaust bolr and maybe thats why there shiot has a exhaust leak?? I bet 50% of the time when I comes to things like these along with installing motors ect ect and its brand new and breaks, its installer error.

mr2gq has a new intercooler piping kit coming b/c his current one (as you can see by the pics) is kinda worn out ..

the wastegate points torwards the firwall, so it wouldnt be that hard to fab up a screamer pipe to go torwards the ground or pipe it back into the DP .. it comes with the brackets so just need a piece of pipe ..

Have you gotten an insurance quote on the new Z06's? They're not bad at all! I was quoted < $90 a month for full coverage.

thats double what im paying right now ..

also, im 17 .. and your over 25 .. so if i got a corvette my insurance company would only be seeing $$$$$$$$$$ in there eyes ..

i have a 91 camaro z28 with a fully built motor .. and v8's are cool and all (torquee as hell), but there just something about a high revving turbo 4cyl that just gets me ..

Ah.. yea. The age is going to screw you. I still have flashbacks of the days when I had my Supra, I was around 20 years old and I was paying upwards of $500/month for full coverage on that sucker.

Anyway, you could always swap a 3SGTE into a Z06

$500 / month .. AAAAAAHHH .. thats a payment for a corvette ... dang ..

as for the 3sgte swap for the Z06, sounds pretty cool .. .. maybe the insurance might go down if i tell them its a 4cyl corvette, that would throw em off ..

adrian youget urs on order or did you get it yet? And the wastegate you can face iut the other way if you so choose. I dontsee no point in putting a pipe on it. Not like its going to add power or something

lol, yea it dumps into the bay ..

i know it wont add power with a pipe, but my dad said it was REALLY loud .. he was sitting in his car when we went down the road and he heard it when we were down the end of the street ..

depending on how loud it is, i might put on a screamer pipe down to the ground or pipe it into the exhuast ..

.........

they shipped my kit yesterday, so it should be here monday according to fedex ..

hey man, there MY pics ..

.. ok fine, i just took them ..

went over there the other night to look at it before i ordered mine, looks really nice .. and he said he had new intercooler pipes coming with red connectors, then itll looks sick

he's running all stock, except i think he bumped the compression up just slightly with different pistons and slight bore when he rebuilt it ..

...........................

i get my SS kit monday, so ill take some pics next week .. is there any reason nobody paints the turbo and just lets it rust .. i was thinking of spraying it with 1200* paint before installing it .. and im gonna spray my valve cover red too (both my and mr2gq mr2's are 91 red turbo's)

Yes its factory ems. IDC if you think its ghetto. YOu aint driving it and penocha dont care lol. Yeah it has been bored and compression bumped slightly. Yeah dont mind the pipe boys air intake part neither lol I had to use something to get it going cause obviously the housing is like way bigger than the factory. But I got my intercooler pipes and im going to be making a new intake set up along with replacing the factory ones. I ordered the parts to do my exhaust, well my friends exhaust shop did, and I was hoping it would be here by sat but looksl ike its going to be monday. And man I been slowly getting in it a little hard and I got to tell you even after I had my factory turbo rebuilt and was putting out about 10-12 psi this new kit feels just as fast if not faster at only 6 or so. Oh and adrian the wastegate isnt as loud when you cap off the top nipple. For one it takes more to open it cause it raises the psi. So its not as loud at lower rpms/ speed. But man does it souynd cool hehe. I would paint it. Probably wont last cause its so freakn hot
