one more question, so the factory IC fan, since the EA1 connector isnt used, does it still come on? or did u have to hard wire it to a switch? i have the relay box thing for the fan, it clips right into the engine harness

I got mine from ebay with a hacked-up body harness for cheap. I know I got a little lucky on that one, but you could try a number of sources (including this forum). And yes, according to my '91 service manual - the '91 NA Automatic ECU has identical plugs to the turbo ECU (albeit a slightly different pin configuration). Potentially all MK2 Auto's use these same ECU plugs. Maybe someone else can verify this information? |

hmmm, very interesting, i wonder if this is ONLY for the sw21 AT or if it also qualifies to camry/celica AT configurations? anybody who happens to know be not afraid to chime in, im about to find out, because that would make it hella easier for EVERYONE, a quick stop to the local yard would be super easy rather than hunting a hard to find part like the Turbo or AT mr2 A plug!!!

(EDIT: Sorry, actually 1 for AC, 1 for CC, 1 for ABS and 1 for the unused fuel pump relay) I did not use these, but you could. I just pulled the pins from the plug to keep it clean. Last edited by Basement Digital; 12-14-2008 at 07:13 PM. |

Also, remember that this is for 91 NA to 93 turbo conversions. I think that the 91-92's share a pinout that changed in 93 - and then of course 94 is the first year of the gen 3 3SGTE that requires more complex modifications.

got it, but i just made a diagram in paint, the only wires that dont match up to the A turbo harness are VF, A/C, BLK, and the FC (which is wired into the engine harness)
O, btw im running 92 NA to USDM 3s harness and ECU, but with a JDM gen II motor but on the turbo ECU side wat about the AC1, ACT, FPR, STP? obviously the AC can be left out, as i dont have it, so that leaves the BLK, VF, AC1 (i pressume is for the AC, if so it can be left out also) ACT, FPR, STP i also pressume that the FPR is the fuel pump relay ur talking about, but if you leave this out how does the FP kick on? (or is it a part of the ignition switch on an NA body harness and i shouldnt worry about it?) |

So I picked up the 93 N/A Auto plug, it fits in the ECU, I should be good to go with that, right?
Send a link to that site you found pls |

This is one great write-up,the only question I would like answered is'If I was to get a rear clip(as I plan to)'With a rear clip is there anything I would need for the swap that may not come with the clip?

Rear hubs/brakes/axles/suspension, exhaust, uncut body harness/gauge cluster, fuel pump. None are required for the swap (as you've learned from this write-up) but not getting them could defeat the purpose of getting a clip. |

Thanks for the reply 'Basement Digital',But is the gauge cluster needed at all or can I just stick to the N/A one?And do you know where i may be able to pick up a 93 Lsd swap non-clip.All the places I have been say 91-93 for there engines and i want to be guaranteed a 93 lsd.

Personally I could care less about that feature because I hardwired my intercooler fan to be on all the time. Some purists might consider that unclean; it really just boils down to what you personally want out of your swap. It's been a while since I was in the market for a motor or clip, so I can only really recommend the oldest and most reputable source I know of. They also happen to be one of the most expensive, but they will be able to tell you what you're getting and you can be confident you'll get what they describe. http://www.jarcoinc.com/image/halfcuts.asp |
