Bump for this question. I need new bushings and would like to know if these are a good solution for my daily driver, or if just some generic or Toyota bushings would be fine.

I have fron and rear swaybars poly, control arms, struts, balljoint all polly... after the squeking stops it fine( they gotta break in) but you feel a difference in handling and sterring through corner response time.. works better with sway bars, strut bars, and suspension... if you not really going to drive aggresive dont waste your time with this mod just get stock bushings kit.. Just renewing stock parts with stock parts makes a difference

If you "grease" them before you install them they dont squeak. Urethane is alot stiffer than rubber for most applications so depending on what components you replace they tend to let you feel more vibration/shock road noise. Even if your not driving "aggressivly" they are a good upgrade to most places in the car but be selective if you are sensative to vibration. Urethane also last quite a bit longer is less prone to rotting from the elements so keep that in mind when replacing components.

Is it true that the urethane bushings have to be re-greased every couple of months? I haven't installed mine yet but somebody told me this and said that for this reason the hard rubber bushings are better. Any input?

every 2-4 years it might be a good idea to re grease, but it's not 100% NEEDED

I've run poly bushings for over ten years, on at least three cars, chalking up over 200K miles on them, and never heard them squeak.

They don't squeak at all in my experience. They may have squeaked in the 70s, or maybe they do on American cars (maybe the product is made differently for other vehicles), or maybe they do if they're not lubed properly. I lube them as well as possible during installation, and then any time I happen to have them apart, but I've never had to go in and re-lube them to prevent noise.

my only suggestion is if you are replacing the front swaybar bushing with poly it will transfer more shock and vibration to the floor so i would check for and repair even the smallest cracks around the front mounting points otherwise they will go down hill quickly

Reinforcement plates aren't a bad idea there, either.

just put prothanes on my car about a month and a half ago. i love them. grease before you install and they shouldn't squeak. my only complaint is the sway bar bushings didn't fit at all. they were too big. i had to put the stock ones back on. need to measure my sway bar again, but i'm not even sure if they offer sway bar bushings in different sizes for the rear. i believe they only offer 19mm. mine is like a 17mm or 18mm

If grease is required, it'll be in the package with the bushings.

Yeah, grease is included with the bushings, and the sway bar bushings are offered in multiple sizes. Just make sure you're measuring a clean sway bar with calipers, and not a dirty one with a tape measure.
