T-tops and tuners

Ok I know two different questions but I didnt want to flood the board with new threads.

First question: Am I correct in my understanding that correcting a leaking T-top is as simple as replacing the weatherstriping and then to prevent future leaking making sure it stays lubricated/moisturized with something like Armorall?

Second anyone in the Washington area that knows a good tuner for these cars? Also what software are you guys using for tuning? I know my Mustang uses a SCT handheld. dont know if they make any products for Toyota...

Theres a lot of places in Seattle to tune, I forgot the names of the places but I'll ask my buddies and tell you. You can google and see what you find.

With the T-Tops, just replace all the stripping and that should stop the leaks, I'm thankful mine has never had a leak..

if you're refering to the duece, i bought some rod guides that pull the t's tighter to the car for under $6. i also did the seals but this alone would be the best place to start. just make sure you put them in right! GL

Drift office in auburn, wa would be the best place to start. It's a very very trust worthy shop with a dyno. I would steer clear from intec racing though.

KO Racing is local, I prefer to support local shops whenver possible and he makes good stuff.

You can't tune a stock car, the toyota ECU's aren't very friendly for that, you will need some sort of ROM or ECU upgrade.

T-Tops seem to always leak and can leak in certain instances even with new seals. It just seems to be that way. You can put a lot of effort, new seals and what not and certainly minimize it. Just realize you might not get it to 100%.

A friend had good luck on a older camaro t-top using ceran (spelling?) cling wrap and black silicone. He cleaned the rubber really well with a solvent, put a light bead of silicone in all the areas that leaked and then covered it with the plastic wrap. Put the t-tops in and rolled up the windows and left it overnight. The next day he removed the t-tops and plastic wrap and he had a perfectly formed seal.
Apparently silicone doesn't stick to plastic wrap, a last resort measure in my opinion though.

i just did it with the new t-tops and the rod guides and it takes a bit of leaning on the tops to close them. all in all i am more then happy with the seal. i have poured water on it and not a drop. you will be good if you can spring for the seals and the rod guides but if you can't start with the guides. they allow you to move the hole to the center and the floor of the car pulling the tops down and in creating a tighter seal. also there is some seal reconditioner i was reading about. if you need any help drop me a pm man!

yea honda sells a grease for rubber seals. i can't remember exactly what it is called but its only 5 or 6 bucks for the tube. That and the encentric guides will also help.

+1 on KO racing they do really great work. I wish i was local to them i would get stuff tuned there.
