I like the turbosmart one...my friend jonny testpilot has one fitted to his rev 3....it's like a behemoth of power going off under the lid...guaranteed to scare kids and old people...I have actually heard some one say "oh my god" as it dumped it's load on them...lol...also loving the low revs....PFahfahfaffafa...

I have learnt from personal experience to beware what type of blow off is used. I personally like a recirculating blow off valve but have discovered some are better then others. If you're running high boost definetly get a piston style instead of a diaphram style. I was running the stock toyota bypass valve at 25psi boost and at 7500RPM in third my diaphram ruptured and the pintle and spring got free and took a trip through my T3/T4 compressor wheel destroying it in mere seconds without so much as a sound and pumped enough oil into the engine to create the kind of pressure needed to lift my head and destroy every bearing in the engine
. I have switched to a GT3082R with a 38mm sleeper series turbosmart bypass valve as well as forged engine internals and a custom intake manifold. I have no complaints about the bypass valve and is extremly easy to adjust since you don't have to take it apart to shim it just simply turn the dial. |

You want a good bov that won't leak psi under pressure also bov sound sweet and it help the turbo from compression surge, if you don't have a bov and run your turbo too much the compression wheel will break off the shaft I know cause it happen to me
so who ever hate on a bov and they are running turbo then they should sell it and get a NA ![]() |

Haven't read through the whole thread yet, might have been mentioned before.
But is it true that the stock bpv sucks in air at certain loads ? To bypass the turbo and make the car a little more responsive? |

I agree full heartedly with mandalay to a point, there are better valves then stock but recirc all the way, I'm one of those guys that like building a sleeper and nothing says otherwise more then a whistling or farting sound coming from the back of my car when I shift, the problem with the OEM valve is its a diaphram style which isn't good for high boost, I have a junked T3/T4 with 1000km on it to atest that, check out turbosmart they are a reputible brand, easy to adjust and come in all sizes right up to 38mm and they look great and to top it off its piston and spring
