Apexi Power FC or AEM EMS?
Which would you go with and why?

I'd say take a look at the Hydra Nemesis. It is a much more complete standalone setup than either the AEM or PowerFC. And the support from RickyB at MRControls is unbeatable. Check it out at Welcome To MR Controls

Funny, as you were typing that I was looking them up. It looks quite nice.
Do you know if ATS is familiar with them? |

What kind of 3S motor do you have? Power FC works with gen3 and AEM works with gen2. The Nemesis is the only system that is plug and play compatible with both.

JDM Gen 2 currently. Thanks for that info, I haven't read that anywhere yet. I will be going with the Nemesis for sure, it is the better option for the MR2 from what I can see.

ATS has a lot more experience with the AEM. There are only a few tuners that work with the Nemesis.

Steve Kan at Gotham Racing in Watauga is just a few miles from you and is fully factory trained on the Nemesis.

That's good to know, Watauga is closer to me than Denton. Appreciate the info.

The Haltech is not plug and play. The Nemesis, AEM, and Power FC are, depending on what Gen engine you are running.

It's cheaper, and comes with the MAP sensor......cool.
What other differences would there be between it and the Nemesis? Losing anything going with the Haltech? |

The Nemesis comes will al the sensors you need, including the intake temp sensor which is fairly important, and a built in MAP sensor. Not sure what the Haltech comes with. Other than that, I'm sure you can find feature lists of both on their respective websites to compare.

I am running an AEM and am more than pleased with it, from what i hear dynotechs is that there is not a stand alone that is as good.
I do hear great things about the power FC and my freind with an SR is running that and more than pleased with that. The problem with the nemesis and the main reason that i did not go with it is becasue not many tuners are familiar with it. you have to find a dynotech that knows how to tune that well(i do not personally know any) |

I think RickyB posted a factory trained guy a few posts up....and is closer to me than ATS....like 10 minutes away. The Nemisis looks like the way I'm gonna go.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help ![]() |
