ok, i was going threw and getting everything ready to put in the turbo kit monday ..

do i need a restrictor in the oil line, or is the stock oil pressure below 30 psi (the max for a t3/t4 turbo)

anyone know?

mr2gq, you got an restrictor on the inlet or just running that hose?

i think we need a oil restrictor .. saw somewhere if the oil pressure is over 30psi then it could blow the oil seals early

I'm not getting what you're saying. It clearly says in the BGB oil pressure should be between 36-71psi @ 3,000 rpm

Are you talking about the SSAC turbo? If so....

naw, i saw on a different forum that the t3/t4 turbo's dont need more than 30psi of oil going to them otherwise it could damage the seals and then you get smoke pouring out the exhuast and the chance to learn how to rebuild a turbo

i put the picture up to show that our motors are putting out more than 30 psi oil pressure, so thats why i was asking if we need a restrictor in the turbo's oil supply line ..

Hes talking about any t3/t4 turbo isnt supposed to have over 30 psi going to it and if it does it needs a restrictor. Or at least thats what he read on a honda forum. So he was showing me that it has over 30 going to it cause I was thinking it didnt

I've been surfing the german car forums for info on ssautochrome. Seems the headers are very often used by honda, nissan, mazda and yes, toyota owners too. So far no reports of any quality problems at all. I know it's not representative of the turbo kit, but it is food for thought.

finally, your coming to our side mr2magic ..

ive had a open mind the whole time and ive seen only a few reports of bad parts ..

besides the glued turbo that everyone brings up (now there welded) , the only two things i have seen are that the manifolds crack (but that can be prevented by inspecting the welds and fixing any flaws before installation) and ive heard of one turbo having faulty seals, but was fixed with a $30 rebuild / seal kit ..

mr2gq hasnt had any problems with his kit yet, and im anxious to get mine tommorow and see how it goes ..

then the picture taking and fun will begin ..

im anxious to find out if its gonna be any good and what kinda #'s it puts down .. ive heard of three people that have bought the kit (me, mekkafire, and mr2gq) and so far ive only heard from them that they are decent .. havent seen any complaints except from people who havent bought the kit ..

also, we need to change the "ssautochrome turbo kit review" thread b/c its a different kit now than what is pictured on the "turbo upgrades" sticky .. so we will get that changed when i get all the pics and some miles on the kit ..
Glad you wastd $400, you could have had part of a good kit.

me and mr2gq will be the ones when our $400 kits turn out to be just as good as the $2200 kit ..

pretty much what he was sayin ..

man i could have bought a name brand turbo for $900, a $50 t3 adapter for $200, a downpipe for $400, and the oil lines and wastegate for the remaining $700 .. oh and dont forget the "misc hardware" aka zip ties .. then i would of had a $2200 street brawler kit ..

or i could get a $400 t3 kit ..

hmmm .. thats a hard one ..
