i gotta take the throttle body inlet (where the intercooler pipe clamps too) to college tommorow and get a hole drilled and tapped for a vacuum / boost nipple for the external wastegate ..
do NOT get the waste gate boost source from the throttle body inlet. You want the boost source for the wastegate as close to the turbo compressor housing as possible. Most people tap a nipple directly onto the compressor housing or onto the hotpipe coming directly off of the turbo.

should have it up / runnin tommorow .. just gotta get that vacuum nippe tapped into the throttle body, then its just boltin up the IC, IC pipes, AFM, fill up with regular oil, etc

dyno will come as soon as i find out about a dyno day, shouldnt be long though ..

oh, well damn .. thats not what ive been told, mr2gq has his on the throttle body inlet

but i kinda get why it should be torwards the compressor, incase a pipe blows off your turbo will just keep spoolin ??

i guess i could put it in the hot pipe then ..

No... thats not why. Its so that you have more accurate wastegate control. There is a lot of pressure difference between the compressor of the turbo and the throttle body. Depending on your intercooler and piping setup you will see anywhere from 1-4psi of pressure difference.

so if i put it on the hot pipe would the wastegate be more responsive / accurate than if it was on the TB inlet?

i went out there and looked .. the hotpipe i got isnt that thick .. its a aftermarket with a bov welded onto it

will it make that much of a difference putting it on the TB inlet .. mr2gq, and the2ndr have there external wastegate nipple on the TB inlet and the2ndr has dyno sheets for over 310rwhp that he showed me the other day when i bought the timing covers and tensioner from him(not the ssac kit, some other turbo)

EDIT: just mr2gq is running the wg line off the tb inlet ..

wg and tb nipple?

I had a water injection nozzle that was coming off my tb. Vacuum for the wastegate came from the compressor housing on my turbo!

Why not just drill/tap here? A good cleaning would get rid of what metal shavings that would come abouts....

From looking at ebay t3/t4's that's where it was drilled/tapped for the ext. wastegate nip

actually .. damn good idea shimric

i was going to say i really dont want to take the turbo off .. but i just realized that there are only 6 bolts holding the compressor housing on and there all loose so i can clock the housing ..

i could probably take the old nipple off my ct26 .. anyone know if its screwed in or molded .. if its molded ill just use the nipple i got with the kit

Use the one you have that came with the kit, tear turbo apart & take it to your schools machine shop (If it has one)

Machine shop. They have all the proper tools, vert. mil, drill press, taps, dies, ect. I wouldn't trust an automotive tech to do machinist work.

I did a few projects for people when I was in school for machining. You could prob get it done for free.
