You can make a trip to summit you lucky bastard! I have to order all my stuff from them.

You probably need a new speedo cable. Check the 2nd one that runs from the transmission to mid way under the body. It could be broken, or dry as hell. Mine was. (there are 2 for pre-electronic speedometers)

Pictures... I see no pictures.

yea i live 10 minutes away from the summit warehouse / store down here in mcdonough, ga .. i love being able to get anything they got straight away, only thing ive had to order was edelbrock headers for my 91 camaro .. but they got here in a day

ill grab some pics .. it looks exactly the same as the pics i posted up a couple pages back from when i got it done last time ..

fixed the oil leak, just needed a few tugs on the fittings with a wrench ..

and i fixed the speedo (or hope i did) .. it is the cable that goes from the tranny to the middle .. the crimped on piece that is on the end where the tranny is came off, so it pulled the cable out of where it connects in the middle

neways .. JB came over and welded it back on .. .. so it should be fixed for now untill i find one for cheap ..

other than that .. when the epoxy dries, im gonna hook it back up and take her out for a few test runs to get the air out of the coolant and then i get to have fun with 3psi untill i get a boost controller

yea .. the major work is done .. now if i dont have anymore water leaks then i should be good to go .. i replaced 98% of the coolant lines including both HFH and HFHOE .. and all the o rings in the oil cooler and the base .. and i put on that new waterpump with new o rings / gaskets, the hoses i didnt replace look brand new and arent dirty ..

guess i need a boost controller next if i got a 3psi spring .. but im gonna run it for a few days and see if its all good ..

im at college right now, so when i get back home hopefully the epoxy has dried on the cable from last night and i can hook it back up and drive her to high school ..

just looked on the ssac website ..

theres about 4 different springs that come in the 38mm wastegate i got ..

3.63
5.83
7.8
8.7

...

i either have the 3.63 or 5.83 b/c when i drove it yesterday i noticed the boost gauge wasnt registering much .. so i guess i might be ordering me another spring if it works good this week .. there $15

actually .. took it out a second ago and stomped it once .. i think i may have the 7 or 8 psi, it just comes in later than i was expecting ..

the boost starts around 3000 rpm .. but higher up it comes on hard and quick ..one minute its vroooooom sshhhhhhhh (turbo) .. then all of a sudden all hell brakes loose and you get kicked in the seat and a VROOOOOOOOMMSHSHSHHSHSHS WAAAAAAAAAAAASSSHSHSHSHSHS (external wastegate )

its a little slower spool than i wanted but well worth the wait ..

my oil leak came back so i guess later i gotta take it off and put on some teflon tape, i put on the thread sealer paste, but i saw somewhere that could be bad for the turbo .. but im sure not much (if any) has gotten in there

oh .. and the apexi air filter sounds hellacious when the turbo spools up along with the wastegate opening ..

i just got home ..the oil was still leaking, but i tightened up the lines some more and it slowwed the leaking ... a guy at summit took a look at it and said put some teflon tape on it and a o ring .. so i got that on the way home for tommorow ..

i stomped it a few times tonight .. took it to 6000 rpm a couple times .. kinda wish my speedo was working .. but it feels stronger than stock and its at around 7 psi or so .. im waiting for 12psi .. anyone know how far i can turn up the boost before i get to the limits of the stock fuel system ..

probably about 50 miles on the kit and nothing has broke yet, im gonna check the shaft play tommorow and see if its still good and not chunking metal like my ct26

Good stuff. I'd imagine they have over 50 miles on their kits as well. Not trying to nay say, but I just think a season of use is a ridiculously short life expectancy to be happy with, that's all.

i think mr2gq probably has over 500 miles on his .. i think hell rider said he has over 6,000 Km on his

and i got about 50 (not sure b/c my speedo gear broke ) .. i hope mine lasts for more than a year, but i just need the kit to work untill i either sell the car and get another mr2, or have the money to build another motor and turbo set up

it won't die quickly unless you suck at tuning or blow an oil line or throw too much at it, which unless you are going after 350+ you shouldn't have any problems

Adrian I think you're getting ahead of yourself Run the thing in for a bit and then see to it that you dyno the car. You are going to have to be the one who tells us what kind of performance to expect from this setup! Noone else has run this thing as a test before, so how can you ask people to tell you what to expect

Can you spell guinea pig!!!
