i have a very slight "bucking" / hesitation on acceleration sometimes, but i think one of my IC hoses is probably loose or something .. idk ... |

ive been meaning to get some pics .. so if i got time later and i can find my camera ill post some up .. i also shaved my rear antenna .. makes the car look alot better than it did with my bent up antenna that didnt go down and wasnt hooked up .. (i got a alpine head unit hooked up the the windshield antenna) |

ok .. almost 800 miles on the ssac turbo kit ..
made a few adjustments today .. changed my spark plugs with the ones that were in the spare motor i bought (ngk plugs, part number had a 6 at the end .. changed them to 7, and they were gapped at .030" whereas the others were gapped probably around .035" ) checked the timing when the motor was warm .. it was one notch to far advanced (either 5 or 10 degrees off) .. fixed that .. and then changed all my intercooler hose clamps (found some at lowes for .80 cents each )and now .. its a WHOOOOOLE lot smoother, faster, sounds better, rev's smoother and faster, its a completely different car now .. no shaft play on the turbo, 3an oil line is working perfectly, no oil in the IC lines, or metal .. so all is good so far .. i am more than happy with the kit, still need to get a boost controller, gauge, and some way of tuning it and then ill get to a dyno .. i got some graduation money from last week in the bank .. .. so ill be getting a pillar mount boost guage and voltmeter sometime soon .. then the other stuff will come soon enough .. i have been getting 25 - 27 mpg .. but after the few tweeks today i expect a little more since its running better now |

everybody was expecting this to blow up within the first 10 miles. great to hear that it's working better than ever. i'd love to see what this makes on the dyno with some tuning. good job adrian! kudos to ya.
for all you namebrand whores... check this: NSX Prime - View Single Post - HP Turbo Installation Started that garret turbo had like 10 miles on it. |

.. ill keep yall updated every couple hundred miles or so .. i need to get some pics up, just imagine the pics i allready posted up with the exhaust manifold slightly discolored .. theres not much rust on the turbo housing yet .. mr2gq had a good bit more than i do, wonder if it has to do with me keeping it in a garage .. |

the only good part about most brand name turbos is the warranty on them. Turbonetics is by far the best, blow it up, get a new one!

I think its hilarious that turbos that are tried and tested get pointed out for an unusal catastrophic failure, and ones that have lasted for not even 800 miles are given a pat on the back.
I really hope this works out for you Adrians89MR2SC, but I wanna see many many more miles before I'd consider this reliable ![]() |

![]() Anyway, if the turbo is a replica of say a garrett, you can use garrett's repair parts on it. |
