i dont know man .. im gonna buy that kit ..
you definitly cannot beat that kit for $400 .. he didnt even rev it up much and it spools right up and feels awsome .. even if the manifold cracks .. WELD IT and brace the turbo .. if the turbo blows up, buy a new one on ebay .. $200 new is alot cheaper than a ct26 ($500) if the wastegate is crap .. get a good one ..$100 at most .. dont know how a downpipe could go wrong .. im not going to use the BOV since mine works just fine .. so i dont see anything wrong with this kit .. im ordering it right now, so ill let yall know how it goes when it gets here .. if its anything like mr2gq's then ill be happy ... ![]() even with replacing the turbo and wastegate with a new one .. and fixing the manifold if the welds brake .. it still doesnt take it up to $2200 like similar kits .. |

I won't tell anybody how to spend their money, but if it doesn't work out I have these parts for sale to the OP since he's local to me.
AGP 61mm Turbo $950 new Autolabonline Tubular 8gauge carbon steel exhaust manifold $700 new Tial 38mm wg $225 new V-band adapter for turbo $150 new Misc Aeroquip fittings for turbo $150-200 new Downpipe and WG dump tube $100+ This $2200 or so $ kit I have will be sold for $1400 locally. These are the only parts I have bought that seemed worthy of lasting in Atlanta driving conditions. I didn't buy everything at once since I didn't have the money, but bought piece by piece over time and have no regrets paying for it. The only regrets I have is not having an MR2 anymore to use it on. Mike 404-583-5811 And yes, Ive owned an MR2 since 2001, I have seen XS, SS Autochrome or ebay manifolds that have dam near crumbled apart after normal use. I have seen turbo's crack in half because of glue not holding up to heat, but If you want to try due to lack of funds be my guest. Again my opinion is only my own and hope the best for your future goals. Last edited by the2ndr; 04-15-2008 at 08:22 AM.. Reason: spelling |

aight, well ill see how it goes ..
i just need it to last me for a short while untill i can afford one of the better kits ... i basically had two options .. 1) a used ct26 turbo (unknown miles) small amount of shaft play $200 2) new t3/t4 turbo with a new manifold / downpipe .. $400 .. i chose the new kit, even if the manifold ends up breaking beyond repair i can get one of those adapters off of ebay for $50 that bolts up to the stock manifold .. |

could of done that, but it doesnt look as cool as a "crumbling" stainless steel manifold with a "crappy" t3/t4 turbo hanging from it ..
hahahaha .. ...................... how bout we all be friends and stop the arguing untill i recieve the kit and install it .. ![]() then, we can start arguing again .. haha . |

i bought there 3sgte tubular manifold and down pipe, and didnt end up using either but i used the manifold to turbo gasket that came with it, and it didnt last 1000 miles. With that in mind i dont know which came first the chicken or the egg, ie did the nuts come loose and make it destroy the gasket, or did the destroyed gasket make the nuts loose.... who know, but only nubs of the gasket were left around 2 of the studs, lame....

Oh come on, ixtlann, you're just a nay-sayer! This kit is probably the Rosetta Stone of creating reliable high power low budget MR2s

Well had to get it going tsome how. and no it wasnt cheap thats why I didnt have the money to go buy a 5K dolllar turbo kit. Hell spendiong that much money on a turbo kit for a car that is already turbo charged is kind of stupid to me. Hell I may as well go turbo my SVT for tha much money and dust the mr2

These turbo kits DONT WORK WELL! Get it through yoru thick skulls. They are unreliable. They are HORRIBLY laggy. THey make very little power. If they were any good I have plenty of suppliers that push those crappy turbos and I could easily sell them, but do I? No?... the reason? Read above, THEY DONT WORK WELL. |

Close! I looked it up: (insatiable curiosity)
"Common sense is not so common."-Voltaire Here are a couple of others I came across that are just as good: “Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.”-Samuel Taylor Coleridge “Success is more a function of consistent common sense than it is of genius.”-An Wang “Science is organized common sense where many a beautiful theory was killed by an ugly fact.”-Thomas Henry Huxley |

doesnt make sense, first hand experience??? You said the kit sucks and is laggy. I have the kit on my car right now and am telling you I can look at my boost gauge and see my rpm's and hear the turbo when it kicks in. So I have first hand experience and can tell you its not " laggy ". Let me guess still doesnt make sense to you huh? And yes when my motors broke in and I get a BC and turn it up to 16 psi or so and if something goes wrong, ill post about it. But as of right now everything is perfect
