ssautochrome t3/t4 any good?

ive been looking around for a replacement ct26 for my 91 mr2 turbo that is spitting metal ..

turbo kits are out of the question since i dont have much money right now

but i ran accross this a few minutes ago ..

its a t3/t4 turbo kit for the 3sgte .. comes with a manifold, turbo, downpipe, wastegate, etc

MR2 T3/T4 KIT Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

its only $400 ..

is it any good, or should i stay away from it?

...................

EDIT- first thing i notice is the compressor housing is facing the wrong way, do they turn at all?

basically ..

just thinking about it .. other similar kits are $2200 +

theres no way a $400 kit is going to be good, and if it is im sure it wont last long ..

another way of looking at it is that we got mr2's not civics .. hahaha .. if a company makes a turbo kit for the mr2, its not going to be a mass production kit .. so it would have to be somewhat expensive ..

The wastegate sits where your oil filter sits. That should explain enough right there lol

YAH RIGHT! finally somebody that has spoken up about this kit!!!

I've been following this ssac/xsturbo kit for a longggg time now and have talked to many that have used their products. only a few have used their entire kit. the only people that i know bought this entire kit was mekkafire (but parted it, then sadly passed away), jmacdonald (i think blew his engine, but was not related to the kit), and mr2lover in the UK. the best review i got was from mr2lover. he made around 300whp and logged 5000+miles on his kit.

people rag on this product without having first hand experience with it which really pisses me off. they see one or two pictures on the internet with that same old glued turbo and assume that everything is bad from them.

i know that andrewmcg (or something like that) used their turbo on a setup and made good power with it.

anyways, mr2gq, what are you impressions of this kit? are you using the entire kit? how many miles have you logged on it? what are you supporting mods? did you get this kit off of ebay? how much boost are you running at the moment?

let us know! i'm sure many are using this kit but fear of speaking out and getting flamed for using this low-priced product (which deems it to be "crap).

DudeI could careless wtf people think about it or are going ot flam me for using it. I was going to wait cause I got a fresh built motor and wanted to wait till its broke in so I can get on it, and then give a REAL review of what I think about the kit ect. ect. Right now i got about 300 miles on the new motor and kit. I got je forged pistons eagle h beam forged rods bored over 20 and a fresh head and metal head gasket. I havent really got on it in my car obviously cause its got a new unbroke in motor. But I have slowly got'n in it and it feels pretty damn good! Not ot mention I love the wya the external wastegate sounds! For 440 freak $ shipped I dont think you can loose. The turbo actually seems really weel built. Jsut had to be re clocked which isnt nothing. And it looked lik it cam pre primed with oil! Now again the only reason I said anything was cause I didnt want adrian to think its tottal bunk, and Iwas going ot wait till I had my motor broke in and can really get in it to see what the kit really has to offer before I posted about it. But so far it seems like a really good kit and for the price cant beat it with a stick! Oh yeah I got the full kit from ssautochrome.com 440 shipped, and right now its running off the 8psi spring it came with untill my motor is broke in
