Thanks. Found a link to the site on the other mr2-related board. I think that I now feel confident enough to try using my 5SFE body harness for my Gen3 swap.

Thanks again for the great write-up!

A domestic NA to domestic Turbo swap? It should be very helpful, yes. The 22 pin connector will have some differences, however. You will need to compare the model year car to the model year of your donor engine and splice accordingly.

Hey Chad - I don't know how I missed your question from way back. My car does not have power steering. I do see the discrepancy that you mention.

Switching the pins fixed your problem, I assume? If so, I will fix my diagram and also make sure that I wire a "customer's" body harness that I'm working on correctly. I was referencing my own swap page for the wiring.

If you're using a turbo tans from a 991-92 you'll be fine.
If you're using a trans from a 93+ and have a 91-92 guage cluster (mechanical) then you will need to find a speedo gear and assembly to swap out the 93+ electric one. The speedo gear assembly is interchangable between mechanical and eletrical.

Hopefully that helps better. The cable screws into the assemebly wich is located on the diff housing part of the case.

On a side note, Ben does your car has Power steering?
Your pin out was fabulous, but the "RLY and PSCT" I do believe are backwards. I fought my power steering until I double checked with another pin-out diagram found here.
Just thought I would bring it to your attention. Thank you for the help your thread gave me too. I got my 93+ JDM trubo swap up and running with no major problems.

yes sir, it did get it running. I can see how if your car doesn't have PS then it would be an overlook. having it wired your way first didn't seem to hurt anything if you'd rather try it first. but my PS didn't work until I found another diagram showing a new pin location

First picture:
Please reference my attached picture.

It appears as though you have (A) and (B) swapped. Cable (A) is the starter cable and it appears as though you have it grounded to the chassis (B). (B) is I believe where you want to ground the cable that you're holding in your photo. This is assuming that it's attached to (C) (bolt not visible in picture). It should be attached to your transmission.

Second picture:
This hooks up to the left engine shroud. You can actually see where it's supposed to go in this photo.

Third picture:
I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the 10mm bolt beneath the 'L' bracket would suffice.

I emailed you directly - but I'll post for the benefit of others.

It sounds to me like unmetered air is getting into the system. Check those turbo hose clamps! (This happened to me when I first started my 3S. I had to re-tighten seemingly a dozen times!)

Certainly sounds like a vacuum leak. Check this sticky http://www.mr2.com/forums/turbo-3s-g...ake-leaks.html

I finally tracked my issue down. Tear in the main hump hose, but mostly the cold start injector was barely sealing.

That depends on the model-year and origin of the body harness you are using. If the wiring portion scares you, PM me about doing it for you. I don't know if you've priced the turbo body harness - they're about $500-650. I can save you a boatload!

Both cars are 91. I have the whole 91 turbo car for parts. I just don't want to change out the dash harness. It's alot of work to do

I have yet to hook the cruise up, but dont see why it couldn't be wired in.

As far as the PS, it works just fine. Look at the pin out I posted
