Never thought we would be onboard with a hyundai, but this car is hitting all the right prerequisites for finally getting a 2.0L turbo rwd worth getting. Every large manufacturer has product and many other big guns are already jumping onboard. We will always be the 3s people, but I have to say its about time to have something like this come out.

all the specs are located on the gencoupe.com forum. The price on the r-spec track model is $23,000. That comes with the brembo brakes, minus the navigation and luxury items.
The bottom end is the evox, but some things have been changed. I am offering to sponsor one as a street car with bolt on mods to participate in street drag class & shows. |

Its hard to look past the hyundai badge, but I think they have winner together. The V8 sedan is attracting alot of domestic customers since mpg is 25 and the platform has a future plan of becoming turbo or s/c. The hyundai plant is just south of us in Montgomery and I have been getting feedback from a source there.

I agree...they have done a much better job with the Genesis cars. The name seems appropriate...it's basically a new beginning for the company. The sedan is well build. Not that exciting to drive but it's a solid car for the money. The Genesis coupe will definitely challenge Mustang sales and I think will in a sense become another 350z. Fair price and good performance. I'm not a huge fan of the styling and will reserve judgement for when I can actually drive the car. I know the numbers look good but that's not everything (as most here know). It's kind of like the new GTR...the performance is amazing and you can't beat it for the price...but everyone says it's very unengaging and feels more like you're playing a video game rather than driving a car
. It will be interesting to see...no matter what people will buy it because of the price and performance numbers. |

I think it is certainly worth looking into. I'm impressed with what I've seen so far.

Gen3 swap DONE!!

^ +1 to that. I'm surprised a car company finally made a cheap RWD car that looks good. I mean people have been asking for something like that forever and one after another all we get is 30K+ cars that fit that description. I kinda wanna try a V8 or something for my next car but I'll definitely go check em out when they start putting them out on the lots though.

Anyone getting the 2.0 turbo coupe near Alabama? I have a possible person in Central Florida interested in being a hux shop car. I think mid march is the release on this side of the US.

I plan on keeping an eye on the turbo model regarding reliability and any common issues the car develops for the next 1 to 2 years.....
The forums for this car will be excellent for keeping track of buyer comments and feedback to evaluate where this car is going in the market. Plus it's nice to know that a pre-owned will most likely go below 20k later in the future ![]() A RWD Turbo as a daily that isn't 20 years old would be nice as a daily.... For now I'm going to watch and let time tell how the car proves itself here in the states. |

Is the coupe in Tuscaloosa a 2.0L or the 3.8? The blue color is suppose to be the fully loaded model. r-spec trim (has the brembo brakes) comes in black, silver, red, & white.
Goodwater is 10 minutes N.W. of Alexander city off of Hwy 280. The tiburon did have really cheap interior, basically creaked alot. That is one of the things they have addressed with the coupe model. At this rate getting another rwd turbo car here minus interior I could live with. Sadly enough each year the mr2 population decreases. Maybe Toyota will follow suite after hyundai and bring a sports car back, but haven't even heard rumors of such a thing. I have a pic of a front bumper a company makes that looks amazing. Just have to find that link again. |
