wow, missed that one lol,
it's probably just that the wiring wasn't done right when the swap was done. The new engine needs a new ecu right? So the CEL was probably never wired into the new harness when the swap was done. What year is the car? |

or the bulb could be burnt out
Toyota MR2 Message Board 3S-GTE ECU Pinouts I did a quick search and here's the pinout for the gen3 ecu, the check engine light wire is at the bottom of the page, at pin 16-15, not totally sure how to read the pinouts, but if you trace that wire it (obviously) should head into your cluster, if not, wire 'er in. if you go to a toyota dealer usually they'll pull up the wiring diagram for you, so you can find the check engine light wire from the original wiring set up

I have mk1. I want to swap in a 3sgte though, but it's really looking like it's not going to happen. I kinda like messing with wires, because my last car had issues, it's one big puzzle.

well i like the problem solving in general, and what's the fun in having a car works properly all the time! LOL
I've definitely learned enough by working on my car to make it more than worthwhile ![]() |
