Oil catch spraying oil

So my oil catch can starts spraying oil when boosting above 5psi, then sometimes ill get it up to 12 and it won't do anything. My catch can is cracked but tapped up tight. I need to get a new can, but what is causing all the pressure buildup, anyone had any experiences with this? Compression tested fine in all 4 cyls. Is it my rings? The pcv valve seems to be working. God I hope it's not the rings...

If the compression test looked fine then it's not the rings cause that's what a compression test is testing, is the valves and rings.

What do you mean by your oil catch though? Not familiar with the turbo setup

In the PCV system there is a can to catch oil inline with the pcv hose to the intake, so under boost if it starts sucking oil through the pcv it won't be sucked into the intake, instead it's separated by the catch can and routed back to the crankcase.

Also anyone know if there is a secondary pcv system to equalize the pressure between the VC and the crankcase or does the primary do both?

it sounds like your having issues with the pcv valve, from what i understand it keeps the the boost pressures from blowing back into the crankcase, and your oil catch can being along the way would be venting away the excess pressure.

Don't know where the valve is located on that car, but that could be the problem

Thanks, anyone else? On the opposite side of the VC from the oil catch (pass side of engine bay) there is a hose and looks like a valve coming off the VC. What is it? Could it be another part of the pcv system like I stated earlier?

The pcv valve is on the passenger side near the oil fill cap. If the valve sticks in the open position it will pressurize the crankcase. You could try removing the valve from the valve cover(still attached to the hose) and try to see if you are still blowing oil.

I'm taking it in to the shop I'm interning at, we're gonna screw with it, I'll tell you guys what I come up with. The catch can might be clogged too. I just dumped the oil out, didn't attempt to see if it was clogged. Kinda hard to see. Maybe I'll use some compressed air to blow **** out if there is any. If anyone advises against using compressed air cause it will screw something up, let me know.

The oil should be draining back into the bung in the cylider head (under the intake/head flange).

I would be appreciative if someone can take a photo where the line from the Catch can DRAIN ( smaller hose ) returns back TO ENGINE.

what exactly was your compression in each and every 1 of your cylinders???........u would be surprised...i got Gen3 JDM 3sgte in my 91 turb....i had the hose (from the catch can goin bac through the air intake) vented and after a few hard laps i would see oil splatter...didnt think to much of it untill i ran a few more laps and then started to see exhaust smoke cummin out that same hose...compression test came up 160,160,130,160......turned out i cracked #1,2 and 3 pistons ringlands (over boosted off a T67 Greddy turb, hit 27PSI)....2 much blow-by from a worn engine MIGHT be your problem

Well the highest boost ever ran was 20psi on race gas. stock ct20b, and about 69k on motor, I kinda doubt it but maybe. Your case is quite a bit more extreme but maybe, I hope not.
