Hi, I recently picked up a 91 mr2 from an auction. The car was originally naturally aspirated automatic, but had been swapped to 3sgte with 5spd. I thought the car had a second gen 3sgte motor because it is running on a mass air setup, but the part numbers on the ecu correspond to a 94+ gen3 ecu.
Also, I went to buy a tps, and the gen2 is totally different then what was on the car, but the 94+ gen3 matches what was on the car. My question is, how can I tell what generation motor this is? Also, how can a 3sgte with gen3 ecu run with a mass air setup? I'd really like to understand this better..... I'm thinking I need to convert it to MAP, does anyone have any input or advice on this? |

Please post a picture if your engine bay, and ecu label.
