Make this a poll I think the Bic would win over snorkel. But to be serious the next upgrade after a snorkel is one of those mr2 special battery cooler bonnet scoops I hear they are +20hp at least by reducing resistance in the battery wires going to the engine reducing alternator load in turn making more horsepower for the wheels.

Now if that is not enough you run mater injection on the same scoop further reducing load on the alternator and line losses by making the copper more conducting to and from the battery or you get a bigger scoop for more airflow over the battery. For those with serious worries about those hot wires a fire extinguisher down the hole to supercool the wires making instantaneous horsepower for drag racing is the ticket. Gold plated terminals can also help combined with the battery scoop you can make over 9000 horsepower from this alone........true story

Personally I'm all about the bigger ground wire, the toggle switch in my engine bay for my radiator fan, my sheet metal spoiler and my muffler cocked funny. I have these things called Kanoogler wires they add like 50HP! Can't forget the trunk full of NAWs.

Bic > snorkel. Stock > all. If you must kit a car, then Tom's bumpers and sides, but nothing more.

What if you put the onwzorz BIC after stabbing multiple people in the air intake tube?
Maybe the black magic from brutality will add demonic horse power.

That is so metal.

Ok, So if I read this guy's question right, it sounds to me like he is wanting to turn the snorkel scoop into a ram air system! Although I have not seen it done I am sure you could fabricate something. However, If you have a turbo I would say you are wasting your time. A ram air system might be useful for a NA application but I seriously see no benefit to installing this type of set up on a turbo!

Scherm - Remember bud that opinions are like _________ everybody has one! I say to each their own and if you bought it then it is yours and you can do whatever you want to it!

Heck, all the trash talk I see in these forums about add ons and aftermarket items, makes me want to install a trailer hitch just so I can put one of those boat propeller retainers on it! I am sure that with it spinning I could increase airflow and improve performance! (jk) Hey it is my duece I just might try that!

Tom's made a very limited production air box that goes on the passenger side of the engine bay for their scoops.

i see both sides of this thread.

the scoop its ok looking in the right apllication, but its worthless in the function dep from what i hear. ill stick with the bic.

and in the end it comes down to personal prefrence. most people wouldn't but i installed a cb radio. it makes the long trips easier and also since radar detectors aren't leagal here, the truckers can help find where cops are at. its your 2 so do what you want to do. if you're creative enough, you can do it.

Oh man, I want a CB.

ps, glad to see the BIC idea was taken so well by the community. I've actually offended people in the past speaking my mind... can you imagine?
also, I want a bull-bar and a trailer hitch on my mr2. And a trailer, made of half of another car.

Advantages of snorkels, allows drafting of cooler air to intercoolers, cools engine bay temperatures (especially if you run two) cooler air in engine bay also provides cooler air for intakes. And they don't look bad, they would provide some drag but the amount should be minimal. The guys got the installation down its nothing but a few screws and a grounding strap.

Levi, I don't read minds, just English. If he's talking about moving the intercooler, it's a safe assumption that he's talking about more advanced plumbing. Also, it isn't very nice to assume that he can't unscrew two 10mm bolts and a ground wire.
